MLS 24 under 24

Good call on Melano who comes in at #10. I definitely didn't see Jesse Gonzalez at #9 after he lost his job this year, but I guess there is still a lot of potential. I got Rosenberry, Trapp and Gruezo, which means two of the following who I had in the top 10 didn't make it:

K. Acosta
J. Harrison
Larin
Manneh
Morris
Muyl
Vincent

Acosta, Harrison, Larin and Morris have to be locks. Not sure which of Manneh, Muyl or Vincent I would include, but maybe I missed the fifth entirely and it is Campbell or someone else.
Definitely didn't think Gonzalez should have made it either. I'm guessing the top 5 are the locks you noted as well as Brandon Vincent.

Harrison top five confirmed. Not much more you can ask for from someone draft 1st overall in the draft. Back to back drafts that the 1st pick has developed or is developing into a special talent; you have to wonder if this is a trend, and if so, a positive for our developing players.

Or, he didn't even make the Top 24 list. Lol.

Also, looking again at the list, I didn't realize how young some of these guys are such as Roldan, Gruezo, Zimmerman, Fagundez.

Also don't think that Luciano Acosta will be with DCU next year. He is currently on loan and every game I have watched, doesn't appear to really be enjoying himself on the field with DCU.

Listening to red bull shill Steve Cangiolosi on Sirious on my way home . He thinks Alex Muyl has to be in the top 5 and that's Harrison shouldn't make it at this point

I think Harrison, Acosta, Larin and Morris are locks for 4 of the top 5 spots. Larin will most likely be #1.

Manneh is a great talent but he's been injured. Not sure Vincent or Muyl would be top 5 material. Muyl has been good defensively and has had a great first year, but not sure he's one of the five best young players in the league.

Lol. Quick glance at surface stats tells the story.

Muyl: 20 y.o., 1242 min, 1 g, 2 a, 6.57 rating (whoscored.com)
Harrison: 19 y.o., 1321 min, 3 g, 5 a, 6.98 rating
If he is really slighting Harrison, that is just silly. I do like Muyl a lot, though I wouldn't have thought he'd be top 5 and I would be shocked if just about any credible evaluator didn't see Jack as the better prospect. Doesn't mean Muyl isn't good, but come on.

But... But... But... The high draft picks always get the benefit of the doubt and accolades. It's not right and it's not fair. What about the hardworking home grown players from the best academy in the league??? They train well, they train hard, and they play a very fair game. It's not right that the league protects the draft picks... It's not right!!!!

Top five has to be some combo of Morris, Larin, Harrison, Acosta, and maybe Powell? IDK if Muyl makes it.

Morris number 1, why American audience wants to ride the hype train.

Part of his impartial reasoning I believe was "Muyl has established himself at such a young age at *One of the top teams in MLS* "

What a homer. You know, I didn't consider him an asshole like Shep Messing. But with that quote, he stepped into jackass territory. Ian and Joe call out NYCFC for their flaws, but they don't overhype our players (well, most of the time), but they don't especially downgrade others.

Let me clarify. I don't think he was necessarily saying that Jack isn't in the top 24 but that he doesn't have him in the top 5 . So if it's between Jack being in the top 5 at this point or not at all he has him not at all. Still ridiculous and to put Muyl there IMO but to be fair If he had to make a list I do think he'd have Jack in the top 24 just Much lower than any of us think he should be with Muyl much higher.

Still a jackass. It's like MSG and the Red Bulls have to shit on NYCFC. If we win the MLS Cup and go through the Red Bulls in the playoffs and absolutely wreck them on the field in terms of talent and tactics and Simon Borg on Instant Replay says this was e best referred MLS game in history, they'd still come up with a way to diminish our club and achievement.

The Red Bulls beating us in the regular season regardless of the score is bigger than them winning the Supporter's Shield. We made them prominent.

Jack Harrison top three. I'd put him one since New York is the largest market but Morris has the biggest appeal and he's putting Seattle on his back. Larin is good but last year he was better.

MLSSoccer.Com loves Manneh. He is the 5th of the top 5. Anybody ever hear talk of Muyl to the USMNT?

You know this is right because I am the one who called Campbell in the Top 11.

I was rather shocked to see Muyl considered in the Top 24.
Setting aside the silliness of whether he is better than Jack, I think Muyl is pretty important to what the Red Bulls do. Huge work rate and a key cog in the press and defensive structure. He isn't going to be a big goal scorer or creator, so maybe he is a case of a guy who is the perfect system for his skills, which, in fairness, might make him less of a prospect in a vacuum. But, in terms of in-season contributions, I think he's in the top 10-15 or so.

All that being said, I may be overrating him since I see the RB a lot more than some of the other teams in the league.
