They have been training at his college grounds. I bet that was fun for him.Malachi is looking forward to playing in front of family and friends.
absolute disappointment. played like we were hung over.
parks doesn't deserve to start. perea gives us so much more energy in the midfield and in transition.
Jones and martinez need to start. i'm over the bakrar and jovan experiments. they have had their chances and they show nothing that makes me think they're going to score.
santi motm. dude kept running till the last minute. everyone else has zero excuse for not running their ass off and fighting for every ball. we had zero aggression and it cost us a point on the road.
I agree on Perea, his passes are more accurate and he is better in final third.absolute disappointment. played like we were hung over.

Maxi is 37. And coming off a catastrophic knee injury. It's amazing he can still do what he does, but we can't count on him to start, and it's unfair to ask him to do it anyway, other than here and there. Plus, we don't want to burn him out over the summer and not have him in September and October and, hopefully, beyond.Maxi is great and no else like him on team, tough to rely on 35 yo.
The defending in the corner by Ilenic and Keaton leading to the cross for NSH’s goal was just brutal. Comedy of errors and lazy play.
Just a thought about Parks. Random correlation, right around the same time he had a child his form dropped. Perhaps fatherhood is affecting his game.
Right. Not to mention, Tayvon isn't the liability on attack he once was. To be honest, I had given up on him developing that side of his game myself. But I was wrong. He's much better this year than he's ever been before. I'd argue he's quite solid. And when defending, he puts dudes in his pocket. That said, Ilenic is a real liability defensively. Every other team knows it and targets him. Feels like the kind of player that, right now, can't start. He gets exposed as a starter too much.
Funny thing is, it can work the other way too. Exhibit A: Josh Sargent. Different position, but you get the idea.Just a thought about Parks. Random correlation, right around the same time he had a child his form dropped. Perhaps fatherhood is affecting his game.
First, thank you Leagues Cup.I whined about the schedule on Wednesday night, but I'm going to whine again. Having a Wednesday game in Los Angeles into a Saturday game in Nashville should not be allowed. That's crazy. Surprised we looked even halfway decent with that schedule. MLS teams never win on the road, to say nothing of teams that have to fly across the country on a short turnaround -- twice. Ridiculous scheduling.
First, thank you Leagues Cup.
Second, this game was even tougher than is apparent by Nashville's record. They's always been a great defensive team, with 3 of the top 10 Goals Against seasons in MLS from 2020-2023. This year they slipped, allowing 1.42 GA under Smith, but since Munthali took over it is just 0.50 goals per game allowed. Getting shut out by Nashville and Willis is no shame, especially 3 days after playing in LA.
Third, the schedule does us no favors from here on in. After the next 2 at Home, there will be 5 of 6 Away, split by Leagues Cup. Of the 5, only Columbus is sitting 7th or higher, but Away is Away. It includes a single week with 3 Away games. The week before is in Austin, so it goes NY-Austin-NY-~5 days at home-Chicago-Atlanta-Orlando.
When we finally have 4 of 5 at home, its is Philadelphia, Miami, at RBA, Cincinnati, Nashville. Philly, Inter and Cincy are each better Away than at home. I do not expect collapse, but we might have seen the high point of the season at 1.81 PPG after the San Jose game. If we do get up there again, then this team will have done something special I think.
