MLS Most Ridiculous Red Cards

I saw that piece on their web page last night and after just watching it again, I still can't figure out which ones were ridiculous. Unless of course I'm misinterpreting their use of the word ridiculous.

I've gotta have Saunders' back on that. He did throw an elbow, but only after encroachment and then he barely brushed the guy who totally flopped.

Some of them were merely interesting or odd, but I think any player who removes his shirt when he's already on a yellow is ridiculous, and that was in there twice. Also the guy who snapped a towel from the bench was pretty ridiculous.

yeah but one was a guy trying to be clever taking off his shirt with another official shirt underneath. pretty funny.

I wonder if he thought it wouldn't count as taking his shirt off because of that. Oops.

I was expecting a video of straight reds. Most of these are second yellows. Disappointed.

Putting aside the fact that the encroaching player in that video was a total clown, I've noticed over the past season and a half that Saunders does not take kindly to any contact -- he gets really heated and aggressive when opposing players collide with him in the box.

I've noticed that well too, and he should control it. I'm sympathetic. I'm somewhat sensitive to unnecessary physical contact. For example, I can ride a crowded subway, get jostled the entire time, and not mind, but if you sit next to me and rest your bag on your lap and it ends up brushing my leg I freak out a little inside, but I also never hit anyone over it.

That's good news for Midas Mulligan who likes to recreate Villa's team picture pose when he is sitting next to you

Thought the 2 yellows in 10 seconds on Cole fit both amusing and ridiculous. Also felt that about the Colorado keeper red card less than a minute into the game.

It triggers him.

The most bizarre red card I ever saw was when our opposing team's goalie became so frustrated at the ref, that he removed his cup (yes that cup) and threw it at the ref. He received the card, and was then supposedly kicked out of the Canadian university hosting the games (York), and very shortly thereafter sent back to his country. Class.
