Portland wins 1-1 (4-2) on penalties.

The revenge tour continues. We haven't beat Portland since 2016.

RJ Allen had literally one legendary moment in his career and you had to do him dirty like that!

Whoops!!! I’ve erased all RB memories pre-Tinny. But yes, that was peak RJ when he was getting USMNT mentions. Which I’m not sure if that was more of a condemnation of the pundits who claimed it, or the state of the USMNT at the time.

Both. Those same pundits also clamored for Tommy McNamara and eventually Ben Sweat to receive USMNT callups. Unfortunately, Sweat actually did receive one.

Folks, Portland is a tough, tough team who seems to have NYCFC’s number by playing on the counter. Was really hoping Cincy prevailed in penalties last night.

Revenge Tour 2020 in full flight.

I think TMAC trained with or was in the mix for an Ireland National Team call-up.
I don't think I ever saw anything that mentioned he was actually in the mix for an Irish National Team callup. But moreso people noting that he was eligible for the Irish National Team and as such, the USMNT should cap-tie him.

There's a good chance we will see this game postponed, by the way.

Games are only stopped if there is lightening in the area or the field is so wet that the ball cannot move (unless the game is taking place at Yankee Stadium and can't be rescheduled).

“I’m just going to go out there and be as annoying as I can be, so that’s the plan.”

- Anton Tinnerholm

hilarious.

The hurricane appears to be veering off to the East which means we might have a windy rainy Saturday night (but not a cancelled one).

Another revenge tour talking point: Giovanni Savarese was the coach for the Cosmos when they beat us last time in the open cup.
i will never forget when that same day, a Cosmos fan yelled at me and said "WTH is Mix?" as i wore my Mix shirt back then.

Now, who the hell are the Cosmos?!

nycfc hasn’t beaten a Savarese-coached team since they lost to the Cosmos.
