With the game being played in a neutral stadium I think Gotham takes it.

I would almost certainly get some sort of ticket package if they did that. Was kind of interested in going to a match when they played in central Jersey but it was way too much of a hassle. Was a little disappointed they went to Harrison instead of here but was at least able to make it to a game. If they played in Etihad Park I'd definitely go.

Funnily enough although I am a diehard NYCFC fan, after my move to the area I have become a really big spirit fan and will be at the game on Saturday and rooting for Gotham to lose. Spirit are just too deep everywhere In the field and have the motivation of being at a second final in a row and will surely not want to throw away this shot while Trinity Rodman is still on the team
I suppose I should root for Gotham just because of the name. But, it’s hard for this Gator to root against Ben Shelton’s girlfriend.
Man, I can't believe City Hall limited Gotham FC cermony to on 500 free tickets for public viewing areas in City Hall Plaza. So when they show the cermony, there will be a small crowd, which just reinforces outside opinon that no one cares about soccer. I don't think they limited the Liberty tickets.
yea liberty also got a full ticker tape parade up broadway while gotham only got a mini parade near city hall.
soccer is definitely treated as a minor league after thought sport in this city and in much of the country.
if you were to google the last professional sports championships in ny, the results are the liberty and before that, the giants. nothing about gotham and nothing about us. hopefully having our own stadium will help grow the game in the city, but i'm not holding my breath.

Yeah, Mets EVP of ballpark ops is a pretty big hint there. If the plan is for them to move to Etihad Park, they probably wouldn't start playing there until 2028 anyway.
I initially thought maybe they would pair it up with an NYCFC game the same weekend but there aren't any that immediately jump out so maybe at some point in the summer they'll do their own one-off during our World Cup break.
Well, I got three emails this afternoon that were basically the same, saying Gotham FC will play Washington at Citi Field on July 15th in the Queens Classic (which sorta implies it might be yearly?). One email from Gotham FC, one from NYCFC, and one from the Mets, in that order, at 2:59pm, 3:15pm, and 3:21pm. I went to a Gotham FC playoff game a while ago so I'm on their mailing list. That one was the most real one, but the bottom line is they'll email me on Friday the 20th for presale access. The NYCFC one said I'd be able to buy tickets on the 23rd, and the almost identical email from the Mets said March 25th. If anyone wants to go I could be talked into buying a bunch of tickets, depending on cost and if there's limits on how many.
for NYCFC to also send out an email kinda smells of the queens classic being hosted at etihad park in the future.

Does Gotham have a long-term deal at RBA? If they don't it seems like they would do well to move to Etihad Park full-time in the future. Unless NYCFC would rather create their own women's team, but seems like NWSL is a ways away from having two teams in the NYC market.
i could of sworn i read Sims allude to this somewhere in one of the Q&A's a couple of years ago.
