NYCFC Kit Concepts

The most defining characteristic about a club's identity is its kit. So feel free to post concepts and ideas on what you would like NYCFC to rep in there coming inaugural season. Personally i really enjoyed the concept that was quite similar to a Boca Juniors kit only with a darker blue and an orange sash in the midsection.

A couple weeks ago I suggested a concept on a Reddit thread. Someone did a mockup of it, and I immediately fell in love with it. Perhaps I am slightly biased but it's beautiful. Credit goes to /u/ibpants for the excellent job he did

If the navy stripes were more prominent instead of faded, I would be a big fan. But as it stands, this is still Man City's kit IMO.

Still not convinced at all shirt sponsor will be Etihad. Infact the league deal recently signed makes me doubt it even more. There may well be other companies under the same portfolio (Etihad created by royal charter) that are in need of a boost. Etihad made a strategic loss for the first several years until the profits came in. Its a different situation in the UK it wouldn't make as much sense for an airline to become a nationwide league sponsor. It may well be another Abu Dhabi company and really from their point of view it should be. Why limit international exposure to the same company?

One thing seems clear its likely to be either Abu D based or NY.

As far as design I favor a Argentina style striped kit with the blue. Either black, grey, silver, orange or gold as the other colour. Probably won't be that its more unpredictable wondering what the away shirts might be.

I love all 3 of those shirt designs and would buy one ASAP. I think the kit sponsor could possibly either be Etihad, Droga5, or quite possibly TRX who City just penned a deal with. I don't know. I'm just tossing out companies that have ties to Man City and NYCFC. Either way I think NYCFC have the best color scheme to work with and their kits will look amazing.

Those are away kits though. I wouldn't think any of those colours will be in consideration for the NYCFC kit - our away colours are considered temporary and throwaway at best.

I was thinking something like this:

Replace yellow with sky blue
replace orange with dark blue
and then have the adidas lines on the shoulders be orange and orange trim around the sleeves and collar.

Haha we Barca fans call this kit the Tequila Sunrise

I like the fading on Guangzhou Evergrande's shirts more - tone in tone and from light to dark. They cast a better "3D effect" on the person that wears it.

I think a shirt with such a fading from light blue to navy would look pretty slick for NYC.
