NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

He'll be 33 and wouldn't have played professional football for four years. Unless he takes $100K, there's no point in signing him.

If this ban goes through, he should retire from professional football and fade into existence.
Maybe we sign him to the RoughRiders for 4 years. He can live across the street from the highschool where they play.

This strikes me as a ridiculous over-reach on the part of the anti-doping organizations. Test him and/or the solution for PEDs/banned substances, but this drama over a damn IV drip seems ridiculous. Admittedly, I don't have a personal stake or interest in the outcome even as a fan, but it offends my personal liberty sensibilities that he is being targeted over something that is seemingly pretty damn innocuous.

The Drip Doctors are harmless.

So he got a drip and some ass. I stand by my position.

The dude is a millionaire pro athlete. No way he mixes those sorts of pleasures with PEDs.

Chick probably gave him a saline drip.
The place is also a paparazzi and social media bonanza, with these sisters splashing pics all over the web with celeb clients, etc., so he would have to have been incredibly stupid if he was attempting to violate WADA regs.

just saw this interesting piece, MLS can breathe a sigh of relief now:

Interesting.

This article clears up a misconception circulating here (and elsewhere) about the funding for these signings. It is not coming from the government. These are wealthy private owners who are not immune to splashing cash in order to enjoy the prestige of having signed a top player - especially when the absurd amount they spent (and can thereby presumably afford) is splashed across the newspapers.

There is also the fact that the Chairman is a big soccer fan, so it is believed that spending a lot of money on soccer is a good way to stay in the government's good graces.
