How? Pogba last played a competitive game in May 2018, when he walked off the field during a game with his team Genclerbirligi Ankara, out of subs, and got into a fight with teammates who objected. This after being transferred from Saint-Etienne to Ankara midseason in January for no fee and given only a half-season contract in Turkey. He says he was injured when he walked off. Who knows. But since then he has been out of contract and inactive, except for a trial last month with a team in the Spanish Second Division. Fair or not the guy had no options. The guy couldn't even get a trial with a first division team until Atlanta offered him a contract, and this proves that Atlanta is the team of choice?

He'd have gone to Minnesota if they were the only team to offer him a full season contract in 2 years.
Diego Maradona was the oldest of three brothers. The middle one, Hugo, had somewhat of a career, playing in youth national teams as a D-mid and for clubs in Argentina and Japan, mostly. Both him and Diego always pumped up the rep of Lalo, the youngest one, who they said was "the most talented of us three". You can figure out what kind of a career he had since he played briefly in the Peruvian 2nd division. The Peruvian press went berserk "We have a Maradona!" and treated him like royalty. He turned out to be a diva and a soccer disaster who alienated club, fans and teammates within the first 2 weeks.

Florentin doesn't need to do anything exceptional on the pitch, to be honest. He needs to be a Pogba. What Atlanta is doing culturally is a perfect fit for Florentin. He needs to sell jerseys, be serviceable, and expose Atlanta United through Paul.

I hope that we get him. Even with some of the reservations discussed on here, the guy has electric skills if he's playing to potential. His highlight videos are fun to watch (I like the elastico at .50 in the first one, and move at 1:00 which would probably get him an elbow to the face in MLS).
I presume it's going to be him or Carlito, but not both. Funny how news of a communication made last month regarding Mackay Steven suddenly comes out when Carlito is deciding whether to take the NYCFC offer.
