I brought him up the last two years. Would be a great signing for us. He was used sparingly with Juventus this year and should be well rested and fit. When he did play he was effective.

I have been watching Copa America and he doesn't look like a guy whose career was derailed by injuries. Has great motor, plays his heart out, and would be a 100x upgrade for us. I don't know if he would take TAM money. He's been a career sub but at Juve, much like Giovinco.

Well the question is not would you prefer X over Medina, I'm saying would you prefer him as a DP over Medina, since that would probably be what it takes to bring him in and some might argue that's a "waste" of a DP slot.

I would take a Pastrami Sandwich as a DP over Medina.

Yes. I think he'd be worth a short DP contract. Can play CB or L/R back. Would be better than any option we have at those positions now. Could also play higher up as a wingback if formation/tactic calls for it. Has decent heading, some pace, good tackling, strong. Can't see how I could be convinced otherwise.

It would be kind of weird to play a right-footed player at leftback when he would also probably be your best centerback.

I would also take him as a DP, without a doubt. He's just plain good, classy, talented, undisputed in a world-class NT where Lodeiro is the weak link that's considered a notch below par and resisted by the fans. I would take pretty much anyone who starts regularly for Uruguay as a DP. In his case either short term or relatively low priced DP that can be bought down with TAM, mostly because of age and injury history.

2. we carry Medina until summer 2020 and then dump him to be replaced with Silva [which if we do this I might cancel my tickets immediately]
3. Silva comes in not as a DP
4. Maxi stays through 2020 and Silva starts in 2021 at age 35

1. Silva comes in the summer of 2020, he's a TAM player then a DP the following year.

2. Silva takes a break and then comes as a DP before the 2021 preseason.

Medina and Maxi are not relevant to Silva coming to NYCFC.

I don't know what's worse showing up: a dead-legged 34.5 year old who just played 30+ games in the PL, or a "fresh" 35 year old.
I'm gonna be optimistic and say it doesn't happen.

Compare those two options against a pastrami sandwich. That’s the litmus test for the next DP.

I would be really surprised. He would have to take a massive pay cut.

But let’s say it does happen. He’s not a starter for Man City in 2019. De Bruyne and Bernardo are your first choice.

He may start 20 matches only next season.

One other note - he’s 13 months older than Maxi.
