I don’t know. I’ve heard that he’s messy or something like that. This team is already a mess.
Here's a wacky hypothetical that obviously won't happen but is fun to think about.
IF, NYCFC were able to sign Messi this summer, would Taty Castellanos come back at least just for the summer so he could play with his fellow countryman and GOAT?
I mean Pellegrini has been here since last summer. I don't see how Messi changes things.

I had a dream last night that I was watching the front office and Blue City Radio meet up with Neymar in Queens to discuss wooing him here but ended up kinda just talking about how great he was. I want the record to state I’ve never watched Neymar play lol
rumor is benzema isn't happy in saudi and wants to leave. maybe CFG can swoop in and sign him for 2024 and boom. we got our elite striker

the problem is does he come in and displace bakrar? or do they split time like suarez does with campana? then where does jovan fit into it? just based on that, doesn't seem likely he'll come to us. not to mention we are out of roster spots I think. we'd have to get rid of someone... or two.
They'll spend money to bring in 2 17 year olds before bringing in a 34 year old.
I'd rather have their other striker.
Antoine Griezmann is the same age as when Villa came over. Anyway we could bring him in 2027 for the stadium as a starting striker. I think he would be fun to watch in this league
