NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

Can we discuss the fact that no one, seemingly in MLS, or elsewhere wants Mix?

If nothing changes in the next 8 days then I'd put this down as a fail for the FO. Not only could he have helped us in some recent games as Ulrich mentioned, but he loses out on match fitness that could have been kept up if he were to play (even as a sub). On 8/3 if he's still with us then we kinda fucked up IMO. I wish he would just take a pay cut. His father may have inadvertently screwed him over.

Perhaps not at the price MLS is requiring....

What kills me about the situation is Mix could have been a huge help in the two recent losses. Lampard wasn't mobile in either the SKC or RB match and a fully rested Mix could have meant we were playing with 3 in the midfield rather than only two when defending. I know the Front Office doesn't want to damage the "goods" before a trade and PV is trying to prove a disciplinary point, but cutting off your nose to spite your face is problematic when a high energy guy was available for a low energy midfield.

If this is still a disciplinary move, I'd love to know what Mix did to make it last this long.

And whatever happens, Mix has held his head up high and not engaged in any 5th-column type antics. Kreis shit on him and Mix never said a bad word. He's being hung out to dry by PV and the FO and again he hasn't said a bad word. He's incredibly disciplined and I'm finding it hard to believe he really is in the "doghouse" as a result of causing internal problems or not training well. I think it truly is a result of the team trying to shed his contract and not being able to justify (to CFG) starting him over Frank.

You have to wonder if he has a veto clause in his contract or something. Surely there's a team somewhere in China or the Middle East who would jump at the chance to sign an American player from NYC.

I agree what mix makes is a factor in deciding to keep him or sell him but it should have no bearing on his playing time. As long he is with the team you might as well use him if you believe he is better than your other options.

Agreed, but the theory is you keep him from being injured AKA damaged goods by not playing him.

This may be too subtle, but I'd differentiate between saying the FO failed vs fucked up. If they had a trade on the table and got greedy, then it would be a fuck up. If they've done everything they can to move him and no one would take his contract, that's a fail. And I'm not sure it's a fail they could do anything about.

As you said, his father may have done great for him short term but hurt him long term.

I was the one who mentioned Higuain. Yes I knew before I posted that he broke the scoring record. But that does not prevent me from wishful thinking that he somehow would fall out of favor with his club. There should never be a rule against wishing that hottie sex bombshell be single despite we all know way too well that she is actually married and is dating multiple guys at the same time. Lust driven insanity is always in vogue in this city! Cheers/toast!
SOLD! for 75.3 million pounds to Juve, we were so close!

Besiktas (Turkey) want to sign Mario Balotelli to replace Mario Gomez...but the $$$ is too high and want Liverpool to make up some with his salary. So they are trying to unload him, but seems to be too much $$$ for MLS. I'd be shocked if he didn't go to China.

Going to China will be end of his career. Nobody there will take care of him with his long term career interest in mind. In MLS he has a slim chance of revival. Anyway, not our headache at the moment. Can we get Van Persie instead? Does he have any mileage left?

Demba Ba would agree with you.

Is Bayern itching to get rid of Ribery, who is getting old and injury prone? With Villa in the middle, flanked by Ribery and Harrison, we can be the Barcelona of MLS. Btw, am the only one who thinks Ribery looks like Quasimodo? :) can never forget those childhood movies.
