pre-season trials don't require a contract. We've had guys from 4th and 5th division US teams work out with the club in preseason before.

Khedira has had injuries, but it would be a good signing for the player and the club. In Vieira's system, Pirlo and Khedira would work well together.

On the positive side, he's been well rested the last couple of seasons. If he's actually healthy again, he has less milage on him.

Personally I think we shouldn't worry about getting a DP. I say we just focus on putting a complete team out on the field on the first day and then by summer we'll know who hasn't worked out and where we need an upgrade and then we can see about getting a DP if we feel we need one. I really don't want this year to be like the last two where we were waiting for players to complete our team. I know that we don't need to do spectacularly to make the playoffs but that's not what I'm about. I want to do well from the first whistle of the season. I know that DPs get everyone excited but I really don't want to build a team around a player who won't be with us for half a season.

I was thinking the same. It's like when the Pats let a player or coach go in the NFL.
That's awful rich, given our first signing was a shit player who couldn't get on the field for the same shit team in the same shit league this guy was playing in (141 times it would seem).
