I think bringing players up from the South American leagues is a very good idea. They come from intense footballing cultures and rather than seeing MLS as potentially beneath them, like many European players might, they probably look at MLS as an opportunity to shine brightly and be seen by the big boys.

I agree with this. I like that we are going and getting guys who perhaps aren't quite making it at the very best SA teams like River Plate, Corinthians and Boca Juniors. Feels like that should be a deep well of talent.

The Indian League is absolute shit so his success there shouldn't be taken into too much consideration.

I'll take that for this sort of acquisition, assuming it wasn't expensive and the opportunity cost isn't that high. Fast players that are highly technically skilled are generally DP's or close in MLS!

Look, I am from Brazil and a crazy Corinthians supporter, first and only until NYCFC. I am very happy Mendoza is not with Corinthians anymore. Not sure about he being with NYCFC yet. He is SUPER fast and I really think he has some talent, he was with all U-Colombian national teams. Maybe with more focus and playing regularly he can achieve something. Note he is only 23 and played for 6-7 teams!!!! this can only tell you so much as well. And if he was really great Corinthians would not be letting him go for free neither his market will be India.

We've got plenty of FB depth. It just doesn't seem like we do since both Iraola and Allen are currently injured.

Corinthians are the best team in Brazil and would probably finish mid table in all the top leagues. They would dominate MLS. Corinthians won their league last year by 12 points and had a +40 GD.
