To add more to the quality of this signing, I think it's a great marketing/PR decision outside of just soccer. He's obviously a solid player, but this will create a bridge for a lot of USMNT soccer fans. US Soccer picked up a ton of momentum from the World Cup this past summer, but the next few years will be a "changing of the guard period" for the USMNT. This will be the young guns' time to shine with Landon and Timmy definitely gone, and maybe even Clint and Jozy gone by the next World Cup. Mix could potentially be a face for the US in the coming years.
Mix is already a face and name that people recognize and he should draw a lot of attention to NYCFC, not just in NYC, but around the country. From a USMNT stand point, May 3rd's home game against Seattle is a GOLD MINE. Game will be broadcasted on Fox Sports 1 and it's directly in between the USMNT's games against Mexico (April 15th) and the Netherlands (June 5th). Let's party!
