WTF? Why did NYCFC remove the tweet/video?
It was a mock "most interesting man in the world" type spot featuring Pirlo, with Godfather music, and him saying fuhgeddaboutit at the end. It all seemed like fair use under parody, but I wonder if they got a takedown notice from one of the IP owners. What was it of?

First, I don't know if that's the problem. It's just moderately informed speculation. But if it was the problem I would cut them a break because while the parody fair use exception to copyright is reasonably broad, it's edges are always subject to dispute. This was certainly not worth fighting over, from NYCFC's perspective. It could be the kind of thing you put out there hoping the parties who could potentially object just let it slide, but you pull it if they don't, because it means more to them than to you.I'd have thought that a major sports team would make sure they were able to use media like that before uploading, surely? Or am I giving too much credit?
Columbus Crew have offered them an international slot + $100k of TAM for it. They're in negotiations as we speak.
