Official: Pirlo Signs With Nycfc... Soon?

Probably worth pointing out that players don't tend to advance transfer talks while playing for their national teams. Occasionally it happens, but usually players will shut off all contact with their agents in order to focus on playing for their country.

Wow, just came back from lunch to see all these quotes. Nice. I am anti-Pirlo. We have Lampard to "pass knowledge" to our current midfielder(s). And yes he played 90+ minutes in the Champions Final. Big deal. He didn't do anything IMO. Just running after a ball and cries cause his team lost.
Look, I'm all up building up a team with foreign talent but we already have Villa and Lampard. I like the new signing so far in Iraola and Angelino.
And now to answer what midfielder I would like, here are my picks: Fernando Reges (28), Tiago Mendes (34) and Blase Matuidi (28) but that wont happen anytime soon but its good to dream. LOL. Anyways why settle again for a 36 year old if we already have Lampard to fill that void?

You know...if you mentioned some 20-22 year old "phenom" with some talent...then yeah, maybe...but Mendes was a Serie A bust and couldn't hang on Juve. Reges is out of the convo and I will pretend you didn't mention him. Matuidi is a very good player, but there is no way we could get him...I'll take Veratti, Motta, Cabaye too...Don't mistake cause we have Lampard and Villa that we can get anyone we want now...just look at our team...it's not as easy as pulling a name from a hat. Pirlo might want to come here. The others don't. Its simple.

My gut tells me that he balks at leaving. If they have gotten to this point, I imagine the talks were serious. But if he hasn't pulled the trigger yet, what is he waiting for? This is the type of life changing decision that you don't make between the UCL and June 20th. This is something that you consider with your family over time, similar to how Gerrard did it.

Eh, it could be a few things. Bear in mind that he has an agent, and the agent just wants what will net himself (not the player but the agent, although what is good for the goose is usually good for the gander) the biggest payday. Agents will often sit on a transfer when it's 90% agreed, just in the hopes of catching one last fly in the web and inflating the prices slightly. Still, you are right that if he doesn't make up his mind to move soon, it does raise questions over whether he intends to at all.

This is what we know.

  • Juve wants him back.
  • Pirlo has a year left on his contract.
  • NYCFC hasn't said a thing about Pirlo.
  • CFG hasn't said a thing about Pirlo.
  • Pirlo hasn't said a thing about NYCFC.
  • I am sure with a bunch of other teams, NYCFC expressed interest, as well they should with any and every high caliber player that might be available.
Pirlo openly likes NYC, so it makes sense to put him here if there is MLS talk, but so far, everyone available has been linked here. Speculation is that he got an offer from NYCFC and is contemplating staying in Juve or coming to America. Everything else is just bullshit.

That's it.
Or maybe he doesn't want to learn English at Kaplan International like Villa did.

Guys, if you haven't figured this out yet H horseytweets is an obvious troll. Don't waste your time trying to debate with him, just put him on ignore like I did.
I'd put H horseytweets on ignore, but his user pic is oddly scarily disturbing while simultaneously magnetic. I can't stop staring at it. Someone please make it look away!!

Gomez to MLS rumors have cooled.

I thought maybe Gomez was who Ian Joy maybe had in mind an attacking/younger DP but it looks like there have been a zillion other rumors/offers on Gomez. I can't keep up. I hope they announce someone we're all excited about soon

Not much, but interesting nonetheless. It's better than "he's staying in Juve" stories.

Just a little education for you: if you see the words "tribal football", immediately close the tab. That website is truly awful, even by the standards of sports journalism. They're pretty well known for either knicking their stories off social media, or just making them up entirely. They are one of the chosen few websites I have specifically blocked from the news aggregator I use to follow team news.

So what you are saying is...they do exactly what 90% of the other sources cited on here do too? Thanks for the "education".

You could of said this in a less smug way.

Oh and since we are educating. I originally read it in Italian, which many here can't read...so I was looking for an English version of the story to share instead. But here's the link, take a gander if you'd like. Maybe they're hacks too. I mean come on bro, it's not like it's a big story of something. Sorry to share the info. Jeez.

Grazie
