We may need a consolidated "Breaking News on July 1" thread to capture all the craziness ensuing today on so many fronts so we don't have to jump around! Good stuff.
So I was kind of trolling Dan Courtemanche who is a MLS executive VP and he was adamant that MLS wasn't adding a core DP a month ago or so and he responded...
I am guessing by his response he doesn't believe a "core DP" will be coming. As per usual I am confused as fuck.

To be clear he is the executive VP of COMMUNICATIONS... for the MLS (Ironic I know) which basically means he goes about his day like...
Could be semantics ("Designated Player" v. brand new "Core Player"), or even just the official company line until everything is completely final. He's the VP of Communications, if anyone is going to be able to stick to the company line, it's him, because he wrote the company line.
In good organizations, the VP of Communications/Communications Director/Media Director is in the room for strategy and decisions.
That's a good organization though.

THE United States of America (US) is a strong next destination for Tefu Mashamaite.
Sunday Sun was reliably told that the soon-to-be out of contract Kaizer Chiefs player’s proposed move to Mamelodi Sundowns is definitely off – and one abroad is on.
Mashamaite is apparently contem-plating heading to America to further his studies, while also hoping to win a contract in the country’s Major League Soccer (MLS) when he’s there.
This week there was a report that linked the 31-year-old Mashamaite to New York City where Englishman Frank Lampard and Spaniard, David Villa, are the franchise club’s marquee players.
But, talks of a possible move to Denmark are also not out of the picture.
