I would totally take Cubo over Jozy. US Nats usually aren't as good when they return from Europe. Of course there are exceptions like Donovan. But generally they don't light up the league like most people expect them to do. It's why I hope they also stay the hell away from Brek Shea as well.

If we could get Diskerud as well then that is an amazing base for Kreis to build on for a long time.
I'll take Dempsey or Bradley or several other "washed up" USMNT players.

Don't rate Altidore at all. The American Shola Ameobi in my eyes.

I think there are far better players for better value if you look at internationals:
Cubo, Podolski, Borriello, Gilardino, Pato, Huntelaar, Pazzini, Gignac, Fred, Adebayor

Unfortunately none of them, like Altidore, are Americans so they would eat precious International slots.

Where did I say they were washed up? Just not as good as they were before. Bradley's form has dropped a lot both for club and country since moving back to MLS. Even Jurgen has been pretty blunt about that.

And Bradley just had foot surgery in NYC. Don't know the details but maybe it's been bothering him all along and he didn't want to miss out on the WC and bail on TFC.

I hope Bradley comes back from surgery and really starts plays better. There are some strong mid field prospects coming up through the usmnt ranks so he will need to start playing better to make the 23 in Russia.

It would be kind of hilarious if he comes back and plays so much better that Jurgen is forced to admit that it wasn't MLS at all but the foot injury that was causing Bradley to drop form.

I don't think that will change his impression that he would rather the nat players do not stay in or return to MLS.

The difference between the average American under the cap and foreign players under the cap is much smaller than the difference between Altidore and a really good striker like Podolski or Pato.

I actually wouldn't want him to be in the final 23 unless he really stepped up his game. My personal opinion is that he played terribly for us in Brasil with very shotty defending and badly placed passing. For example: his horrible pass that led to Portugals goal in the dying minutes that equalized in a game that we should've won. It just seemed to me that every time he had the ball there was something he did that dissapointed me. This again is just my opinion. Also I'm sorry that this is off topic of what this thread is about

You are right but he wasn't playing his natural position. Mix is a better suited guy for that role. Bradley is a box to box, not an attacker

Bradley played a fairly advanced, attacking position under Zeman at Roma. Probably even more attacking than the one he's playing for the Nats now. And he was at his absolute best in his entire career at that point for the USA. So I don't believe the position is the main problem(although I don't believe he should be playing the 10 role either). The problem is he is not competing against quality midfielders anymore. It's a huge difference going from fighting for spots against the likes of De Rossi, Pjanic, or Strootman to the crap that is in Toronto.

Might the injury have had more of an impact than any of us attributed? Just a theory.

Rumor on Twitter (and this is a horrible rumor with no source, just a connection) of the COSMOS going after Steven Gerrard. God bless their little hearts.

I love the English media, will report any rumor they can dream of. I feel safe in saying Gerrard will not be playing in the NASL next year.

the setup of that Toronto team is terrible, I saw them at the Revs last weekend, and to setup in a 4-4-2 is a waste of Bradley. He played 90 and busted himself, but considering he went in for surgery right after I would say the injury did affect the subtle parts of his game.

.......But could he be moving from Anfield to Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium?
