I think the easiest solution, from a fan's perspective, is to get Gerrard for a June or July introduction and drop Lampard.

I love Gerrard, but dear God. Do what I do and go watch an exhibition or head to Anfield. I want us to build a team, not hire a circus attraction.

Guarantee MCFC will try to pull the same crap with De Rossi that they are doing now with Lampard at some point. He'd be an even better replacement for Yaya.

Yep. I mean, we'll be linked with almost anyone because we're NY, but the timing and the silence of NYC's front office is interesting at least.
We'd be trading up for sure. Maybe not on the field, but in character it would be a win. And it means I don't ever have to cheer FFF.
