Yeah I remember Kwame coming in and motioning/signaling to Herrera and Herrera moved to the other side. Looks like that was coached.
Nice weather? I nearly turned into a popsicle with that 20 mph wind coming in while waiting on the masterpass deck for the family events.
This was the second-lowest attendance ever for a NYCFC home game in YS. Considering that includes mid-week games against the RSL’s of the world, that is really concerning.
The drop off is what concerns me - from 26k opening day to 18k a week later. Did 8k people really come to see Giovani dos Santos?

Maybe it was a little windy (in 233b where my seats are we're pretty well protected from the wind) but it's been better weather than last year.
This whole thing goes back to the need to market this team better. When I went to a fan meeting prior to the start of the season, Patricof told us that they planned on targeting people who were already into soccer in the city. It's not a broad enough audience to reach. They need to get out to the suburbs where you have lots of families with kids.
That midweek RSL match on 4/11 will be our lowest attendance ever guaranteed. I can understand squeezing Wednesday games in during the summer when kids are out of school but who is coming out for a midweek game in April. Side note.... The third midweek game in September is on the first day of school for many districts in NY. Brilliant scheduling by NYCFC and MLS.

Bit of a confession. Though I didn't fall asleep like some, I wasn't paying full attention up until we scored our first goal, mostly because Orlando almost never had the ball and we almost never took a shot.
On the play when Tajouri scored, I was looking at my phone. I looked up due to the crowd noise reacting to the first bad pass by Yotun. From there I saw Bendik mishandle it, hit it to Tajouri, and the score.
Notwithstanding which end of the field, and notwithstanding the uniforms, I was confused. I flashed back to 2016 and early last year when we gave up goals like that every other week it seemed. I thought we turned it over and Orlando scored. Took a second or two to notice the cheers, and light blue unies, etc., before I figured it out.

All I know is one who didn't show up, mostly because it was Orlando in March. It was a balancing, and that just didn't do enough to make me feel obligated to freeze, not hang with my wife who'd been out of town for 8 days, and skip the other matches I wanted to see.
I'll be back next time. This one just couldn't get me there.
I’d also like to bring up how ineffective McNamara was when he came into the game. The game seemed to move by him too quickly and he never was an effective contributor. Passes weren’t connecting, couldn’t make a dribble, got a yellow card for who knows what reason.
He’s the new Khiry in terms of ineffectiveness on the field but a wrong go to sub for Vieira. Ismael was taken out for Mata. Then McNamara for Mata. So all LW subs. Lewis would have been more effective. But Lewis isn’t on good terms with a Vieira in terms of maturity and professionalism. So...yeah

You were there, but maybe inside, so you missed this. I'm surprised nobody else has brought this up. At halftime they had a video board feature about St. Patrick's Day. It was the kind where they ask each player silly questions about each other and compile the answers.
One of the questions was which player is most likely to go missing during the St. Patrick's Day parade? The majority said Lewis. Awuah got a few votes, including one from Lewis. It seemed to me that behind the silliness, it was a bit telling that most of the players who were asked thought of Lewis when asked to name someone who goes missing likely for reasons of unreliability.
The only other 2 I remember were basically unanimous. One was which player would do the best job playing bagpipes. Everyone said Awuah as he is apparently known for some musical talent. The other is which player is most like a leprechaun. I thought TMac might get some votes but everyone -- I mean everyone -- said Maxi. Which is cold.

I didn't get to watch until today, so all that needs be said has been, but a three-game winning streak? All I can say to that is
On the last play of the game, Vieira was complaining that Orlando made a back pass to the keeper. The referee didn't make the call and then proceeded to end the game. My recording of the game was cutoff from the late start. Did anyone get a good look at this play?
We should have had an indirect fk. No doubt.
Reminds me of last week. There was a group in my section that blew a horn when we scored. Problem was in the second half, guess they didn't realize the switching of sides so when LAG scored there were the only ones standing up cheering and blowing the horn again.....They all got yelled at.
