So is Stubhub a complete no go? Because I'm looking to go on Friday after work. Stubhub is usually my go-to, but if I have to go somewhere else, I will.

Stubhub and the Ticket Exchange both have inventory.
What we have been told is that STH will have the ability to transfer tickets with a print at home option that will work for the rest of the season but printed tickets will only work at small number of gates. So if the person selling you the ticket on stubhub is a STH, you should be fine. But then again they told us that printed tickets would work for everyone for the entire season so whether or not NYCFC has credibility is another story.
How you determine whether or not someone is a STH is not in my realm of knowledge but theoretically the only people that can print at home at STH so all the tickets on StubHub should be STH?
The safest option buy your ticket at face value through ticketmaster or to get on your knees and gulp down on the Yankee backed TicketExchange which is the only way I believe to transfer mobile tickets.
You could also try to facilitate an exchange here or on reddit and have someone email you the paper ticket,but obviously buyer beware.
I don't like it at all. It is Thursday night and I just get stuck with a work dinner. I don't know if I will make the game (I am pissed). Nevertheless. I don't care about making money on them. NYCFC Ticket Exchange is making me charge $32/a ticket. I would be more that happy selling them for $20 a piece. I would sell them in 30 minutes on SH. They are 4th row decent seats and I just don't want the seats to go to waste. So I just listed them and know that they won't sell with their method. I'd put them on Stub Hub, but there is no concrete answer and I don't want to screw a buyer over. So I can't sell them, the seats will be empty, a fan can't pay a nice price for decent seats, etc. How does this benefit them at all? It doesn't. It's a lose lose all around. Makes me frigging bonkers.
If your tickets are available to print, you can sell on StubHub without a problem.
If you use ticketmaster you should be able to get mobile and everything.

As an update to this, I emailed my ticket rep for some clarification on tickets as I had a ticket transferred to me and wanted to fully understand the options I have available. The response I received:
"Printed tickets will be accepted at all gates tonight. You can also pull up the ticket on your mobile device and use the QR Code to enter the stadium. Please let me know if you have any further questions."
So it looks like for those wanting to print tickets, they should be available to enter all gates, at least for tonight's game.

what if you buy electronic tickets off of stubhub?
The print at home STH tickets will be allowed all season long. They get scanned twice. Once at the front of the line and once after security. Apparently it will only be Gates 2 4 6 8 (which I'm pretty sure is every gate but Suites or Hard Rock)
I just last night bought an extra ticket for Saturday's match via Ticket Exchange. The whole process was quick and easy, so there's that. Only option was getting a PDF emailed to me though, no other choices. Ticket price was $22 but I think the regular price is $30 for that section so I think it was less than retail. $5 fee though.
The whole thing was a little confusing though. You go to nycfc.com, which takes you to TicketMaster (no sign in required), which takes you to TicketsNow where you sign in to get the tickets. You then get emails from several places and then eventually your tickets. The thing is, my TicketsNow account has nothing to do with my TicketMaster account, which means there was never a way that ticket was going to show up in my phone in the TicketMaster app.
Everything about this was just a little weird.

Have any season tickets holders sold tickets on the ticket exchange for seller's credit? Do you know if the credit can be applied to monthly payments? Does this happen automatically, or do you need to request it? Any other options for actually getting the money from your seller's credit account? Thanks in advance for replies.
A few days ago, I bought a pair of Yankees tickets off the ticket exchange for my nanny, who is a huge Yankee fan. Getting the tickets onto her phone has been a huge hassle, and I am not sure it's been done even now.
I got an email that I was supposed to open to get the tix on my phone. I sent to her, and she opened on her phone. She then had to enter all this information into ticketmaster, even though she had a ticketmaster account. She can't use the ticketmaster app, because she's only on iOS 7. So, after a lot of back and forth and email verifications, the tickets opened in the browser on her phone. But, she can't get them to her passbook for unknown reasons.

Had a similar problem securing my tickets to the New England match. For whatever reason neither my son, daughter or wife could download the Tickemaster app to their phones. Finally I simply said the hell with it and left the tickets at the Will Call window.
Got there about an hour before the match and the entire transaction literally took about a minute and a half.

I just have them direct deposit it into my bank account, I do like that feature over stubhub going to paypal, then having to xfer from paypal to my bank.

Secondary market has been very weak compared to last year. Team has to win some games or it will be nowhere as good as last year. The new guys on the block fever is over.
I put 3 of mine up for face value 3 days before last game and they sold within 24 hours. I was pleasantly surprised. Didn't think they'd sell at all.
True of the last game vs Chicago, not so much of the previous ones. At least that was my experience.
