Somewhat in between. The Scorpions had an odd charity based structure. Spurs owned a USL license and were pushing for MLS. They bought the stadium from Scorpions owner (Hartman?) who kept the NASL license and brand name. The Scorpions were virtually defunct by the time the sale went through. It was rumored that Hartman was set to sell his NASL assets to a Las Vegas group but that has not happened yet.
