Share Your "eating Experiences" At Eateries Around Yankee Stadium

I posted this question elsewhere, but just realized it might go best here.

What pre-game spot would be best for bringing a couple of little kids (ages 5 and 8)? Would need to be a place where we can get a seat relatively easily and have decent food. I am fine if it gets a little rowdy with cheers, etc. (probably better if it does), but wouldn't want a place that gets too out of control.

I love a hole in the wall shady dive bar. Judging from the google pics that's exactly what it is - soooo I will def check it out when it gets warmer...that's when I am my shadiest. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have found Applebee's to be very popular when taking my nephew's of similar ages. They also like McDonald's of course, but that place gets too busy, and it's McDonald's.
 
On 4/10 I finally found my way to Yankee Tavern and the steak pizzaiola I ordered was SUPERB! Delicious! Perfectly cooked- not under or overcooked with lots of mushrooms and peppers well worth the price, which was reasonable ($24.00) and served with veggies. (Choice of pasta is available) I was as hungry as I scanned the menu, I wanted to eat everything. however after I ate the steak, to my detriment, I had no space available for dessert.

Every time I go to an Italian restaurant I look or ask for it. Some places never heard of it, others say we can make one for you. To my disappointment what I had been served were poor imitations.

The Tavern has a full variety of food choices, even for picky eaters like me. I plan to return to have the“Clams Oreganata” and dessert.

It still retains its vintage flavor and when I went in, I was reminded of what was once upon a time: Little Italy, Arthur Avenue - the Bronx. I hope The Tavern does not become gentrified
I did had a small obstacle getting into YT. It's not wheelchair accessible. However the manager/or owner was very nice and set a table for me on the bar side. It was perfect for me.

I went last night before the Montreal game. Great local feel. Heads up they only serve Bud or Budlight for beer.
Mike the Bartender, maybe the owner wants the stadium built "right here"

Its been a while , since I have made an entry @ Eating experience Thread. I am back again to drown my sorrows for NYCFC loss to Toronto 4- to nil. OUR boys in bleu did not made a single goal . .. :eek::thumbsdown:.


last season and the current season there was not any food or locale worth mentioning


But this past Sunday I did l enjoyed the food.
I went to the TR Watch Party on St Patrick',s Pub on Midtown. I arrived early and starving at the pub. I hungrily scanned the menu and as usual , when I am starving , I can eat a whole cow. I wanted everything on the menu!!! But common sense and past experience dictated otherwise.

I ordered the NY steak and a delicious drink to begin, whose fancy panzi- dandy name escapes me now. It had Vodka, Sour apple -something... , cranberry and something else.

I had to tell you the The NY STEAK was worth it, although it was an average size though. It was juicy, tender and Deeeelicious with caramelized onions, red peppers, mushroom , and a generous portion of vegetables broccoli and carrots and mashed potatoes.

I highly recommend. Overall as a steak lover, its worth making the trip if you are in Midtown- Mahattan

PS the bar has created a drink for Villa called D- Villa. I love my capitan . .. . .. . except this drink. It was ok

There is something inherently wrong with that meal. It’s like one giant processed chicken nugget where they grind it up and bake it in an injection mold.

Better yet, filling shaped ice cube trays for those steamy August nights chilling on the fire escape. Craft gin is optional. Chickensicles on a stick and chickencubes for the glass
