Applebee's really hit the spot for me last match I went too. Generally, i'm not a big fan of those chain restaurants but with it being in the mall where I park, and my nephew being the pickiest eater of all time, it worked out perfect. We got like 4 apps: chicken wings, meatballs, chicken quesadilla, and sliders. All of them were pretty good and with 2 sodas I spent like $23 or something before tip.
If you are going with a picky kid, it's probably the best option!

I've never bought any food in the stadium, but I will probably hit up Hard Rock next time I come down with my wife.

I wish I had time to eat at games again. lol

From what I remember:

1. Beef Sliders and Fries - 3 - Just dry and entirely uninspired. They don't even put cheese on it.
2. King Crab Legs (Delta Suite) - 5 - Presentation is fantastic. It's served in a martini glass over ice. The legs themselves aren't that great though. Edible but not anything to get excited about.
3. Sushi (Delta Suite) - 7 - The flavors are ok but the rice isn't done well. Which is to be expected really. Sushi is fine art. This is a baseball stadium. It's well enough considering.

I don't remember what else I've had in the stadium. I usually eat a hot dog or two and some chips or nachos at Dugout before the game.

I've been hitting a couple of the restaurants near the Stadium before the matches.

Feeding Tree - Gerard Ave (1 block east of the Stadium)

This is a good Jamaican restaurant. The curried goat and the oxtail are tasty. Service is quick. They have Red Stripe and Guinness Stout. Recommended.

Molino Rojo - East 161st (2 blocks east of the Stafium)

Average Dominican/Puerto Rican food. The chicken I had was good, but a few other dishes were a bit subpar. It'll do, but it ain't Malecon. Plenty of Presidente in a bottle.

Will have to find the empanadas. There is also supposed to be a pupusa lady a few blocks north on the Grand Concourse, but I didn't see her before the match against Seattle.

In the Stadium, Lobel's is the best choice.

Get there early. Nobody that works there is in a hurry or cares whether you are late to the game. But yes the food is good.

I finally understand how the team plans to make money after looking at my last few credit card statement. I realize I've spent more on concessions than on tickets this season.

That's is the price for becoming a VIP. not having enough time to eat, but look at the bright side of it, you will not gain weight.

Disagree. If you tell the lady that you are headed to the game and in a bit of a rush, they will work with the quickness. They've done it twice for me and my group.

Does anybody know if you can get fish'n'chips at Yankee Stadium? I found a Daily News article from 2015 that claims they're available near Section 127 but the closest things I see on the Amenities Map near 127 are Sushi Food next to Fresh Cut Fries. I don't think that does it.

Today trying to keep my vow as a follower of my faith, no meat on Friday, I wanted the above and had no idea where to go.
I ended up eating 2 McDonalds (by YS) fish sandwich. They where good and edible but ...lacking in excitement.

I can tell you that Playwrights Pub ( TR new viewing party locale) their fish and chips are finger licking good. The only caveat that is only 2 small pieces of fish that leave you yearning for more and I find it pricey at $12.00 an order

I had the same reason for wanting it, and I work about a block away from Playwrights. Thanks for the tip. But I was hoping for something more grab'n'go. In the end I did the fish (sushi) for lunch at a place I trust near work, then grabbed some pizza also near work before heading up. I can't imagine the Papa Johns option at the stadium is very good.

Looks like they aren't opening NYY Steakhouse during the NYCFC games this year. Kinda a pain now as Hard Rock is the only place to sit and get a beer before the game starts. Especially liked hitting it up when the weather was shitty.

My dirty little secret: I've tried them too. Not bad for mass produced sushi.

OTOH, my newest, best choice is the pastrami sandwich near the main entrance and the craft beer stand. Surprisingly good.

When I was there on Saturday they had free hot dogs. They were Sabrett and it was the best dog I ever ate, notwithstanding the guy giving me crazy eyes and looking like he wanted to kill me since I was a non local eating a dog in his place.

I'm familiar with Glacken's. My mom, who lived at 144 & Grand Concourse since 1986, before moving down to Florida in 2000, frequent this bar often. She took me there when I hit 21 to have an "official" drink at a bar! Good times. It has been a long time since I visited. I will definitely drop by sometime this season.

Glacken's is a landmark. Finished a good few benders there back in the 80's
