Great way to open the season, well deserved win against a team that just doesn’t give up games or goals at home.

Thoughts on the game?

I’m still disappointed with how we close. It costs us games last year and even though it didn’t cost us today it did lead to losing Chanot.
Great to see subs come in and do the job. Herrera has some competition I think. He was very average of not poor.
Ben or Mata? Ben had the great run that led to or second but he also made some horrible mistakes in our defensive third.

1-0 Maxi

2-0 Medina

Great result in an otherwise sloppy match. Herrera was super disappointing. If villa passes the ball at end of half we run away with the game.

I’m super excited about Ring and Medina. Thought they were both exceptional tonight.

A great way to start the season 2018 - a bit discombabulated towards the end. We lost a great defender . But We still WON . We have 3 points in our pockets

I must admit that as much as I am not a fan of VAR Tech, tonight it worked in our favor

feels good to be back with you guys and gals.

At least Chanot has a week to rest up his ankle.

But seriously, I want to sit Geiger down Good Will Hunting style and say: “it’s not about you. It’s not about you. It’s not about you.”

Good win away from home and the guys didn't let up.
Happy to see the team make better decisions when the play was getting scrappy on defense. Last year we tried to play too much out of the back in these type of situations which cost us goals. Better to get the ball out and if you do lose possession gives the defense time to reset

Although Sweat had the assist, he made many mistakes and would want to see Mata get the start. Herrera had a rough game but hopefully gets back on track.

Villa. For me, just chalk it up as the first match. Way to early to make assessments.

I liked Vieira's substitutions.

Not arguing that this wasn't poor by Villa, it was sad, but it looks like Sweat is offsides.

Villa needs to do better there, but Sweat also needs to stay onside
Looks dead even with the ball inthe first pic. And either way. Play it to his right and run in front (eta: to the right I mean) and it becomes a 3 on 1 attack with all players on.

Eta2: far be it from me to tell Villa how to counter. But it looked like he made his mind up way too soon he was taking it all the way. Yes, we could debate his decisions. In reality, I’m arguing he effed up when he decided at the halfway line he was putting one on goal.

Would have been happy with a tie, so ecstatic with a win. But, sad to lose Chanot for next week, he was a beast for the first 80 minutes tonight. Especially sad if Cedric isn't ready.

Ring was MOTM, broke up so many plays, tackles everywhere. Still loves those yellows though.

Sweat sucks at defense, but props to him is made a great run and cross on Medina's goal.

Very concerned with Villa's battle against Father Time, the man would have scored that screwup before halftime in 2015.

Hi- give a break to my Capt. We all know he is not a young rooster but he is still the big rooster in coop , He still can roll that ball with his feet. , He still has the magic, I love it when he kicked the ball back with the heel . Too bad the guy behind him did not see it or anticipated it.

Really sad to see Chanot out for the next game, because the CB positioning was stellar tonight. Both Chanot and Callens cleaned up a ton of mistakes and their positioning was great.

SKC sent in a crapload of crosses and they were there every time in good positions to clear. I remember a couple of other times that Callens cleaned up after a bad midfield turnover.

Yes, SKC was rather inept offensively but if this is the level of CB play, it’s going to be a good year.
