Going global seems to be the trend for our leagues and rumor has it the PL plans to return the favor soon, so is this inevitable?

Right now MLS is dependent on those sales at the gate; you'd have to hand whatever team loses a home game a boatload of cash to lose one.

I think the PL has a huge fight losing a game to come over here. Remember, that's a league that still hasn't gotten the 3 o'clock matches on TV because of fan opposition.

The first domestic league to play a game abroad will very likely be the EPL, but even that will come up against a lot of resistance. The market for MLS doesn't stretch that far abroad (compared to leagues like the EPL) for it to be very beneficial. Still growing so much in US and I think that's the positive news for now.

Nothing at all to do with fan opposition at all the 3pm are not shown because it is thought that it would affect attendance at the matches.
And givern a choice people would chose to watch a EPL game on TV than pay to go and watch their local lower league team who would go out of business.
No prem games will ever be played in the USA.if any games were ever to be played they would be played in Asia were the money involved would be too good too be turned down

Reckon they will be some kind of preseason tournament involving MCFC (MANCHESTER), NYCFC and MCFC (Melbourne) next season, probably starting in NYC then visiting each other city annually

So MCFC will come to NYC in 2015 in late July or early August? NYCFC's pre-season is on a different timetable than the others.

That's where it gets complicated! When does the MLS season end?

MLS Regular season ends at the end of October, but if NYCFC make the playoffs (Translation: a Cup competition featuring the top six teams from each geographic conference that is actually the most prestigious trophy in the US) then it could last up until mid-December.

Could get very complicated

If the US wants it and the BPL wants it will get done, money isn't a factor USA Rugby just paid for the All blacks and will possibly pay a hefty sum for Australia and the British&Irish Lion on their next tour to have a game.US Soccer would pay to have the exposure of a regular season game in Seattle,Boston or the New York area. The only thing that would stop them is what major team will want to give up a home game against another big team to play in the US. Unless they did something like the NHL and MLB and have it at the beginning of the season have them play a friendly against their host team and the following week you could play their opener. Can see like Liverpool Play NE since they have their Boston connections and Man City play us and then their is your game. could possibly do a double header style game the following week with the BPL game and then the MLS game

I doubt any premier league or other European league would play a regular game over here. Soccer is already a global sport and doesn't need the exposure of a meaningful game like the nfl / mlb does in order to expand into other markets. They can continue to sellout stadia in preseason overseas friendlies.

As for mls going to England I don't think anyone over there would care. They go to nfl games because they are the best in the world. Mls isn't any better than the championship in England. Best we should hope for is a world super cup between each continents champions.

Isn't that what the FIFA Club World Cup is?
