The Club is now sucking up to de Blasio. This won't help us get a stadium, it will get more diverse people possibly to show up games though. I'd like to see a demographic report of season ticket holders and attendees of NYCFC games.

New York City Football Club President Tom Glick said, “New York City FC is excited to partner with IDNYC – to provide cardholders with discounts on our tickets and to help grow the program. As a soccer club, we are proud to represent New York City and to welcome a diverse fan base from across the five boroughs to our matches.”

I mentioned this on Reddit, it could be a sign that they have a good relationship with the mayor's administration.

Just read the article. Took this away from it.

“In the first year of IDNYC, we heard countless stories of New Yorkers empowered through the program, including teenagers who did not previously have access to ID, immigrant mothers who can now enter school buildings and participate in their child’s school with confidence, and transgender individuals who can self-designate their gender for the first-time,” said Nisha Agarwal, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs. “

Countless stories of transgender people self-designating their gender? Really. If they have time and money for this program they can certainly pay someone $100K to get an accurate count on the transgender self-designations.

How long do you guys think the Yankees will have us there?

Is there any official info on the "agreement"? I'm just curious since we heard once or twice that some people/players didn't like us there...

The Yankees are a business first organization. As long as we are a profitable venture they will allow us to stay.

I can't for the life of me find the source for this - but the other day I read that the discount is $3 off each ticket in category 6 seats. Definitely done for the marketing and for making nice with DickBlasio.

Just searching about stadium news for nostalgia. Came across this which talked about the original Bronx stadium from GAL. I think it's still our best shot but only with the guy on the right helping with the deal. GAL and de Blasio aren't going to help us out whatsoever. Bloomberg would have strong armed GAL into signing a deal or the city would have seized the land and sold it to CFG. A fan can dream.

Bloomberg is a businessman and was aggressive with trying to stimulate NYC's economy while the rest of the country was in a recession. De Blasio is too busy fixing mistakes he's already made. Without getting too "political" he's too busy working on the socialist side of the city and wouldn't have the balls to sign off on a stadium unless there's a narrative that he can spin to help his agenda. Yeah, well maybe that was too "political".

Without getting too "political" he's too busy working on the socialist side of the city scrambling to deal with increased homelessness, increased crime, overcrowding / declining school performance, & fouled race relations and wouldn't have the balls to sign off on a stadium unless there's a narrative that he can spin to help his agenda CFG builds 10K units of affordable housing. Yeah, well maybe that was too "political".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I had a discussion recently with a guy who claimed "Baseball Latinos live in the Bronx, soccer Latinos live in Queens." Any truth in this?

Generally yes, the Bronx is mostly PR and DR and Queens has a lot of SA. Argentina, Colombia, Brazil etc. Even though I would love the BX, if we build the stadium at sunny side yards, we'd have at least 35-40K every game and the cosmos would vanish like a fart smell.

Are you considered a latino if you speak Portuguese as in Brazil?
