The team left you behind? That’s messed up.Flight cancelled. Stuck in Toronto for another day.
Joys of winnings. Pains of travels.
Any word on Lewis' absence? Did he make the trip? Unless there was some news that I missed, it's not a good sign when now fresh eyes from a coach of Dome's caliber (who also is seemingly a fair and reasonable guy) has concerns about Lewis (whether it’s the lack of defensive awareness and/or otherwise).

Can someone explain this mls charter flight limit? They flew a charter flight right after the game. (It doesn't count towards towards the MLS limit).
So did the joke. They flew a charter flight right after the game.
MLS allows each team 4 charter flights per season. Otherwise the league covers 25 economy tickets, hotel and transportation expenses per trip. Can someone explain this mls charter flight limit?
I think a team should always have 3 attacking subs on the bench. Wallace doesn’t count as one if his last 18months are an indication. He should be dropped for Lewis. Seriously, after we made the Berget sub, I knew we had no other sparkplug options and had figured a draw was best we’d get because Isi was not doing much of anything outside of his amazing goals - but if Lewis was on the bench we’d at least have had an option for one more change. There's no place for him in the 18 with Castellanos here, quite frankly. Who of these players is he supposed to leap over on the depth chart?
David Villa
Ismael Tajouri-Shradi
Jesus Medina
Jo Inge Berget
Valentin Castellanos
Let's be honest -- all of those players deserve to be in the 18 more than Lewis does. That's not to say Lewis is a bad player -- he's not. But the fact he can't even crack the 18 is an indication of just how good our attacking options are.

So to circle back, the bench should have: 1GK, 2 Defenders (both inside/outside), one midfielder, and 3 forwards. In a pinch, a forward can double as a midfielder if injuries require it, or a starter (Isa, Medina) can be dropped back to full in. Having both TMac and Wallace on the bench was duplicating ineffectiveness.
Lewis is better then Castellanos. No way you can say Castellanos is better then Lewis at all. There's no place for him in the 18 with Castellanos here, quite frankly. Who of these players is he supposed to leap over on the depth chart?

how? He has played 2 gamesCastellanos is better than Lewis at all.
I don't see any argument for having TMac in the 18. I can see an argument for Wallace, because he can do some things that others can't (note, I'm not calling him to be subbed in, or to start, just that he can play defense). I could see Wallace as a good sub to bring on when trying to protect a lead, but definitely not an option when needing a goal.I think a team should always have 3 attacking subs on the bench. how? He has played 2 games
That’s a pretty bad hot take. Lewis is light years better than Shelton as his G/A per 90 shows. He’s has singlehandedly saved points for the team. Is he fantastic in defense - nope, not really, but that is a far cry from saying he’s a better version of Shelton.Lewis is a nice player, but it's pretty clear he's not going to be a main part of this team's offense. He's a better version of Shelton. A nice player, a role player, a guy that doesn't play a complete enough game to warrant more than a bit part.
I'll grant you that the jury is still out on Castellanos, but he's shown himself to be a pretty smart player so far, and he's going to be a much bigger part of these last four months than Lewis will if everyone is healthy.

He’s fringe NT talent. Made the U20 with no prior association to the feeder setup.Yes, I did say he's better than Shelton, but in terms of his long-term prospects, he's nowhere near the rest of the depth chart. I think that was kind of the comparison I was trying to make. He's the kind of guy who's probably not getting a 2nd contract here.
