Yes, I did say he's better than Shelton, but in terms of his long-term prospects, he's nowhere near the rest of the depth chart. I think that was kind of the comparison I was trying to make. He's the kind of guy who's probably not getting a 2nd contract here.

Lewis has 3 goals and 4 assist in 523 total MLS Minutes. That return is very good. I bet you there is going to be other teams inquiring about him come the end of the year and seeing how he will not be as involved he definitely will try to go for other opportunity.

I’m a NYCFC pessimist and whiner extraordinaire and even I wouldn’t stoop to seeing European club’s 16 year olds walk through the motions in the sweltering mid-summer heat and call it better than NYCFC.

NYCFC has two option years on Lewis. They are in the driver's seat here. If they sell him? Great. There is definitely a market for Lewis right now and they could get a nice haul both within the league or going outside the league.

As it is, I think it's important to see who else is out the door at year's end. I think both McNamara and Wallace are gone. But you need to replace them with Americans.

I wouldn't be surprised if Taty is our First Historic YAM Player this offseason when that finally gets announced. Pair him with your other options up front and where does Lewis fit in? He's a one dimensional player in a complex system. I have no doubt he could produce somewhere, but he doesn't deserve to be in the 18 right now. And I don't see that changing.

I think if there was a possibility for us to loan him to Cincinnati next year and then get him back, that would be ideal.
