Using Chatbox During Games

Not sure whether Dan and Falastur will be on tomorrow evening but presumably the chatbox will not be forgotten about by other online admins? Last time it was Falastur who closed afterwards. It was a massive success last week as far as I'm concerned so certainly should be open again. Obviously more numbers will be at the game anyway so not sure how occupied the forum will be. So the issue of people gravitating to chatbox or forums first wouldnt be as important as away fixtures. Exceptions mainly being international members such as myself and those in other parts of the US.

On a related note, will the Man of the Match voting be open for a slightly longer timeframe (compared to last week) to allow people traveling back home to vote?

I really want a PBP thread. If you're at the match or in a bar, it's a billion times better in that you can actually use it. Chat is gone too fast on mobile.

That's the plan. All of the admin staff will be at the game but we still intend to put the chatbox up. I'm not sure how much it will be used during the game as many of our users will be at the game too.

We'll see. We're looking for a way to announce the motm publicly before the day is out but obviously we need to let people have a chance to vote. Last week's was called early as Saunders was a runaway winner. I suspect this week's will last a lot longer as people will take longer just to get home and back on their computers/phones.

We're still working out what the best way of doing it is but I reckon this one should be open for a good few hours. We will also have to find the time to close it and call the winner this week...

I hear you. For now, the chatbox is working really well, but we may experiment in future. We'll really have to see though.

Honestly there's always a game thread and people are more than welcome to use it during the games. No issues with that at all.
The Chatbox will be open of course. 1 hour before the game at least. And we will keep the MOTM poll open a bit longer.

I love using forums for other teams to get nice play by play game updates, and I really think we should use something similar, even if it's along with the chat box. I also imagine as the forum keeps growing the chat box will becoming harder and harder because 100s of people will be posting at once, but that's for the future
