USMNT Talk

I had no idea the y/o stats looked like that

If this USMNT makes the quarterfinals they will legit be WC Championship contenders when the same team is average age and in the prime of their careers playing at home in 2026

USMNT Depth Chart
Striker: Pepi, Pefok, Ferreira, Sargent, Zardes, Dike
Winger: Pulisic, Weah, Aaronson, Arriola, Morris, De La Fuente, Hoppe
Winger/CAM: Reyna
Midfield: McKennie, Adams, Musah, Acosta, De La Torre, Bosio, Sands, Lleget
Right Back: Dest, Yedlin, Cannon, Moore, Scally, Lennon
Left Back: A. Robinson, Bello
Centerback: Zimmerman, M. Robinson, Richards, Long, Palmer Brown, Brooks
Goalkeeper: Steffan, Turner, Horvath, Johnson, Slonina

What do you think of the above? Anyone mischaracterized? Anyone left out?

This includes 41 players.
Looks good.

I bolded my current picks to make the lineup assuming the expansion to 26.

Really nice analysis of some US stats from the Octagonal.

Berhalter sticking with Steffen (assuming Turner is healthy) could turn me into a GGG blaming zombie.

he did have frostbite according to Arena (unless I read some Russian Bit disinformation). Not what kept him out of Revs games but nonetheless, highlights the stupidity of playing that match in Minnesota.

Arena said that, and USMNT denied it. Turner issued a nine sentence statement that never mentioned frostbite. The stadium has built in playing surface heating that keeps the ground temp around 55 degrees, but people are going to believe what they want, and Arena is a grouchy jerk.
The most reasonable take is that the cold contributed to the short term tendonitis in one foot that went away after a few days.

reyna starts today for dortmund and comes off injured in the 2nd minute. tears in his eyes. he walked off himself. seems like he reinjured himself. it was non-contact and reinjured during running after his first touch. poor kid

Steffen trying to be Ederson today (i.e., super calm and relaxed on the ball) ... and of course makes a huge mistake. wow... he is not world cup ready AT ALL

wow.. just wow. they aren't even letting him take goal kicks anymore.. YIKES

his decision making is just super slow and usually wrong. not who i want as our USMNT #1. He just doesn't play enough.

Steffan, oh boy… not looking forward to Turner also spending game time on the bench.
That said, Turner looks to be better than Zach now.
