USMNT Talk

I watched the first 70' and then had to go out. So, as far as I am concerned, we had a tight 2-1 loss to a very good team that easily could have gone the other way. And I am going to ignore any evidence that it was anything different.
this seems to be the approach of US Soccer as well

tuning into the US olympic team playing a friendly vs japan. geezus. they look incredibly unorganized and outclassed.

we just can't seem to put together a good national team squad on any level can we?

Even TNT is concacaffed. The score bug after Pulisic equalized. Took about three minutes to get it right.

Wtf was Brazil’s plan on that free kick? Hole in their wall and GK on the other side.
given the location of the free kick, allison had a choice to set up his wall right in front and risk a curled shot to either side or block one side of the goal and cover the other. he chose the latter and didn't trust his wall. he cheated to the left thinking it would go over the wall and that was enough to delay his dive to his right. great free kick.

He really committed to Pulisic shooting right, and then I think Pulisic hip faked him that way to sell how Alison already leaned. The way our 2 players abandoned the hole was a huge tell, but too late.

wtf is happening?

how is VAR intervening on brazil's free kick? it's not any of the enumerated situations.

concacaffed again!

Turner has been a terrible broadcast partner for US Soccer. The matches have seemed unprofessional at times.

ESPN is number one. FOX is number 2.

Fox is pretty bad. ESPN is ok. I wish NBC were the partner.
Oh definitely agree. NBC has been the best for club football. ESPN was the best for the World Cup. Miles ahead of what FOX has done (including getting the contract for the World Cup illegally).

The ESPN player rankings are laughable. The average rating for the starters is 4.2. The average excluding Turner and Pulisic is 3.7.

Plus, the U.S. players crossing over that gap shielded Allison for a moment. The fact that they were going both ways didn't tip our hand. Nice design by the staff. Wonder if Vartughian is still working with them.

They were reviewing it for a red - presumably for DOGSO. Once the review is on, all possible outcomes are on the table, from upgrading to red, keeping the original call, or downgrading to no yellow, or even no foul.

Credit to our boy, Joe Scally. He was getting a lot of disrespect over the past couple of weeks. His club play was a bit off this year, and his last couple performances for country were pretty mid. But, the last two games he has been terrific. He shut down Diaz vs. Columbia, and last night he more than held his own against Vini. Plus, he made the pass to Pulisic that drew the foul on the free kick that scored, and made an unbelievable pass to McKennie in the box that set up Pulisic's late chance.
