Yeah I noticed that too. The game had just ended -- spectacularly -- in a tie, and 45 seconds later they're saying T&T won all 3 of its games. I put it down to that game feeling like a T&T win. But it was still pathetic that this delusion infected the announcers plus the graphics person, plus probably a few more people like the director on the Fox sports team.
It was a thrilling game. Too many twists and turns to count.

Weird. TWC search for both "Gold Cup" and "United States" only returned the Univision broadcast. Ah well, the Spanish-language commentary is much more fun anyway.

Penalty shootouts suck but damn they are dramatic and exciting.

Oh yeah it was terrible. I typed that after only seeing it live with my stream cutting in and out (Xfinity sucks ass) but yea what a shame.
Mexico had like 78 opportunities to score a legit goal. They had to settle with a BS goal I guess.
The bottle throwers won it on a dive in stoppage time by a player that should have been sent off 10 minutes earlier.

If we're gonna talk about who should have been sent off why don't we mention the Costa Ricans with yellow cards who constantly continued fouling. They got, like, 50 warnings each.
The ref issued 11 yellow cards if I'm not mistaken.
The referee shouldn't have called that a penalty. However, I can understand why he called it. He sees a Mexican player leap into the air and end up on his back after coming close to a Costa Rican player.
What an ending. Was it a penalty? Was it a dive? To many of us it will be either choice depending who we are rooting for. I am glad I was not the referee .

Had USA or NYC gotten that exact same call in stoppage time I'd say "I'll take it" but admit that it was an awful call. Think it was pretty clear cut.
