Personally I think now 1|2 and 4|5 are the most important gaps. 2|3 is no longer as great as it was, but 4|5 really will make a huge difference now.

This mostly. The sample size we are making such widespread assumptions on is incredibly small.

Interesting it’s better to finish 6 than 5.
And considering a roughly 60%+ home win % based on GD, 2 still matters to get you to the conference final if you’re evenly matched or better than the teams on that side of the bracket. Hell, you can argue by that analysis, that a super hot 2 seed with a better GD than the 1 seed has a roughly 50-50 shot once they get to the conference final.
I don't buy this. Make me an argument that 2/3 isn't a big deal when we finish 3, win our first playoff game, and then have to go on the road for game 2. 1/2, 2/3, and 4/5 are all massive gaps because they all determine home field in a guaranteed or likely matchup.
1/2 is huge because 1 gets home throughout. 2/3 is some sort of home/away combination, so they're similar levels of "get that, good." but 4/5 is huge because 4 has one home playoff match, while 5 and below have none. To me, the "none vs at least one" thing is a much bigger gap than "some sort of home game vs some sort of home game"
It's not some sort of home vs some sort of home. It's 3 seed getting home and then very likely away vs 2 seed getting guaranteed home and home. Imagine we are battling NJ or ATL for the 2/3 seeds. I sure as hell want home field advantage if/when we play either of them in the second round of the playoffs.

For the life of me, I can’t understand why they don’t get all the new kits out and in stores for Christmas.
My guess: Because everyone buys the jerseys anyway, so by not having them out for Christmas, people will gift other branded items. This way you get Christmas purchases AND the February jersey purchase, instead of just a Christmas jersey purchase.
And bottomfeeders like me just waiting for retailers to clear out the old home kit for like 30 bucks

They didn't even change it to signed 2019 jersey, wow. If I were you I'd email them some angry email about this.
I'm rather enjoying filling this out, and I'm not slamming them across the board just for kicks, either. There are a few things I'm giving high marks on, such as community engagement and wanting to keep fans involved.
But I'm thoroughly stumped by this given the timing:
"What is the most positive thing NYCFC has done for its fans in the past month." It is followed by the same question except negative. The last month has been dead, and not entirely the club's fault. It's the center of the offseason.
I punted and critiqued the question. Even on the negative side I said that unless you want me to ding you for not announcing a player signing or stadium in the last 30 days, then I have nothing constructive to add about the club's behavior during the deadest month in the MLS calendar.
My favorite answer was to the last question, which was limited to the same time period: pick one word to describe the club in the last month.
Opaque.
I hope they put all the responses into one of those gimmicky giant word clouds clouds with each word sized by frequency. Then stand around and brainstorm on how to address the clubs current challenges.
On a completely separate note has anyone else been surprised by how many images of Villa the club continues to use on their social media posts in the last month since his departure? Villa highlights and photos nearly daily across all platforms. I think there was even a looking forward to 2019 instagram story wish a few key pics of him. I get that he will always be part of the club but with the sadness of his departure so fresh and not a single piece of news about a replacement to be excited about it just seems foolish to keep reminding the fan base what's now missing over and over again.
