Caught my original English club QPR on ESPN+ over the weekend. Hard to believe they would let him go as long as they still have a remote chance at the playoffs. He was quality and clearly their focal point. Also as a Moroccan international his price has surely increased this window. BTW it’s pronounced Cha-yir, which apparently he hadn’t bothered to point out to UK commentators until the WC.

With that said, he looks like he would be a great pickup, Though it would probably condemn QPR to a mid table or worse finish.

Soft spot in my heart for QPR as the only England location I've seen a match.

Bring on the Ranger.

I've also been to Loftus Road, is it just that it's relatively conveniently located in London and relatively easy to get tickets because their rarely in the EPL?

So we are less than 7 days away from our preseason opener. If we started the season today this is the best I think I could cobble together.

Not terrible ( though a big assumption on Ilenic) and it's my personal belief that Gray would be fine as an RCB on but except at LW (I assume Pellegrini could start over Thiago A), and Maybe CDM there is no depth at all.

Thiago A. Talles Gaby
Keaton Fredo
O'Toole Chanot Martins Tayvon Ilenic
Barraza

Thoughts?

Yeah, the early season games should be free because of the summer transfer window.

They take advantage of the playoff rules in MLS in how they build the team. They feel no pressure to do business right now.

It looks like the type of lineup that can limp a long until the summer transfer window. If anyone gets hurt though we are in big trouble. Keaton and O'Toole are also the only players in the lineup who can get the ball from defense to attack so they will be busy.

weird that turnbull is a trialist now... wasn't he a regular on the II squad? guess he's out of contract?

He was originally signed to NYCFC II, so I think officially he's not an NYCFC player.

The other NYCFC II players like McFarlane, Owusu, and Carrizo are all on NYCFC contracts playing for NYCFC II.

I thought that might be it, but then wouldn't he have a ^ next to his name like the other academy/NYCFC II players?

Technically, academy players are "owned" by NYCFC while for paperwork reasons, a player signed to NYCFC II would have to be signed by NYCFC in order to be considered an NYCFC player. It's obviously a technicality, but that's probably what's happening there.

It is also possible that he was out of contract after 2022 and is trialing for another NYCFC II deal.
