I don't think an 8-seed should save him. I think if we don't advance past the best-of-3 series, he should be gone. This team claims to want to win titles, if we're not one of the top-4 teams in the East after all this money spent the last two years, then what are we doing here?

I'm just annoyed I got your handle wrong. I even looked it up while making the image, "He's More not Moore, right? Right." Then FM I type Moore because why? Nobody knows, including me.
If it makes you feel better my last name is actually “Moore” but when I made the username in 2016 I was worried about “stranger danger” and giving out my real name. So in my high school brilliance, I took out an “o” and thought “now no one will ever know it’s me.”

Trey mentioned on the last episode of Blue Balls that Haak got lowballed on an extension earlier this spring and they havent talked since. Could lose him on a free this offseason.
Yeah he did. Didn’t sound good, and I would hate to lose Haak. He’s fantastic. Maybe they can use some of Smaug’s GAM horde to offer him a higher salary.
It’s MLS Cup or bust this year for Cincinnati.

I agree they have gone all in. Making "or bust" contingent on the Cup is a bad gamble though. Being the best team only buys you slightly better odds.

To be fair, we did sign a new DP who appears to be pretty impactful. We're not a win-now team (though we're getting there) so I wouldn't expect us to be as aggressive as Cincy.
It's just been demoralizing really since 2023.
Understandable, but it's getting better. Think where we'd be right now with a healthy Keaton.
Injuries happen, of course, and you need depth to deal with them. But I think we're deeper now than we were at the start of the year, by a healthy margin. And with Nico on board now, we have the one missing piece we needed the most.
I'm troubled by this Haak business, though. If we lose him because we suddenly got tight with a buck after the money we threw away on Jovan, I'm going to be pissed.
I'm guessing "low-ball" is in the eye of the beholder, so who knows what we actually offered. However to be fair to the club I'm not sure that it was totally clear during the off-season that Haak was infact a bonafide solid MLS player. He had only really broken into the XI consistently very late last year, and while I'm sure they had him pegged as a starter going into this year, I'm sure the club was cautiously optimistic about what impact he would have.
It’s demoralizing because we always have to be talking about ifs, buts and maybes. Keaton isn’t healthy, the club has enough salary budget space to replace him. Why not replace him? Why not actually use all of the roster building tools allocated to the team. We should be maxing out roster spaces and pushing roster rules like Miami and Cincinnati, not always talking about what if. That’s the demoralizing part.
The problem is that the club intentionally kept its depth on the wing thin to force playing time for Ojeda and Fernández, even though both have shown they’re not yet at an MLS level. Player development is important, but truly ambitious teams don’t throw away an entire season by playing with the equivalent of only 3.5 attackers each game just to prioritize development.
Shocking an employer low balling a current employee, which causes the employee to leave, which then require said company to over pay someone outside the company to replace the former employee, who may or may not work out.
