I think this is pretty smart by him. Like Lalas said, he knows his guys play aggressive and will foul. Planting seeds in refs head.
I'd like to think that the Refs know violent play when they see it regardless of what an imbecile coach may say ahead of time. If I was the ref assigned to the game, I'd actually be insulted that JM was making these statements and be conscious of his team's play even more - especially after studying the first two matches & seeing the missed calls on Lloyd Sam and others.I think this is pretty smart by him. Yeah, I wouldn't be calling for more fouls as a red bull coach. Dirtiest team in the league.I'd like to think that the Refs know violent play when they see it regardless of what an imbecile coach may say ahead of time. JM's theatrics could play either way, but more likely play against him since Geiger typically calls a lot of fouls.
Is he trying to influence the officials? Mark Geiger is the guy on Sunday, and whatever you think about him, I don't think someone with his experience is going to fall for such nonsense. (Marsch acted like he didn't know who the ref would be, but I am sure he did.)
Look who's yapping...
... and who's stirring the pot.

I very much like your point about a potential late collapse by the RB under the conditions, which of course had been our MO for so long. How much fun would it be for us to score a late winner in New Jersey on one of those 40 yard beast mode dashes in transition by Jack as he flicks it off to a wide open sprinting David using his last ounce of 30 year old plus energy to bury it in the back of the net. And there's pandemonium in the swamp!Last preview of a derby for the regular season at least. Hope everyone is getting out to RBA for the match on Sunday. While I, as much as anyone, love poking fun at the RB, it is a fantastic place to watch a match when it is full and rocking (i.e., only when NYCFC is there).

This would be so fantastic. Assuming I hadn't been consumed by some combination of anxiety and the heat during the prior 80 minutes, I think would absolutely lose it.I very much like your point about a potential late collapse by the RB under the conditions, which of course had been our MO for so long. For sure. I'm in 127. I bought these months ago -- they really jacked the ticket prices after that. I think I paid something like 2/3 what they are charging now for seats in that section.I have seats in 218, anyone else going?
Yeah I paid somewhere around $30 for mine and now they're up to $60.For sure. I'm in 127. I bought these months ago -- they really jacked the ticket prices after that. I think I paid something like 2/3 what they are charging now for seats in that section.
Yeah, Marsch will claim the ref is helping the old DPs.Thoughts on how the very likely mandatory water break will affect the game?
Is that the play where he fakes an injury in the box and then scores from the ground with his butt? So, pretty clearly, Lampard (in the center of the picture) was showing Brillant and Harrison how he is planning to score with his butt this week against the RB, right? Has to be the case. And I'd happily take it.
