Ah yes, Meara was a monster pickup with his gaffe in Chicago.... man that draft was worse than a bag of rocks.... the quality of players available was just so bad two years ago and the guy giddy with his picks set us back from the get-go.....

That goal is what is remembered, maybe correctly, since we lost 1-0, but Meara had like 4 saves in a minute later in that game to keep us in it, that were incredible. I'll never understand why he didn' get more of a shot.

I'll never understand why Kreis did anything the way he did last year. As far as I'm concerned, he wasted a season and set us back with the awful roster moves out of the gate.

This. He actually played well that night outside of one mistake.

Expansion draft might make them worse, tbh. Feast your eyes on this bounty:

Round Orlando City NYCFC
1. Donovan Ricketts (Portland) Ned Grabavoy (Salt Lake)
2. Tony Cacio (Colorado) Patrick Mullins (New England)
3. Jalil Anibaba (Seattle) Jason Hernandez (San Jose)
4. Pedro Robeiro (Philadelphia) Daniel Lovitz (Toronto)
5. Lewis Neal (DC) Tony Taylor (New England)
6. Jair Arrieta (Columbus) Mehdi Ballouchy (Vancouver)
7. Heath Pearce (Montreal) George John (Dallas)
8. Danny Mwanga (Columbus) Thomas McNamara (DC)
9. Mark Sherrod (Houston) Sal Zizzo (Kansas City)
10. Eric Gehrig (Columbus) Chris Wingert (Salt Lake)

Thank god they didn't take Wingert! That's a guy you build a team around.

It's funny how some of those Chivas guys were highly rated and only Delgado and McNamara get run. What a miserable franchise that was.

Kennedy is a back-up somewhere. There was a CB we spoke about on here that was from Brooklyn originally. He's out of the league. Cubo Torres has done nothing. Matt Dunn was a flop. Don't remember anyone else.

Some of you guys have an inflated sense of what it is possible to get with an expansion draft. We got two MLS quality starters (TMac, Hernandez and Mullins), another guy who started many games for us (Grabavoy), and a couple more who were substantial contributors (Taylor, Ballouchy, Wingert). Plus, we were able to take a flyer on an injured guy who would have been a great pickup if he were able to make it back (John). Orlando didn't get anything near that.

Just because those guys played doesn't mean they should have played or had any business being on the field.

Still fucking annoys me to no end that dumb fucking Kreis took Matt Dunn over homegrown and cap free Delgado...

Carlos Bocanegra is running circles around Kreis when it comes to stocking a roster from nothing. If only Reyna, back then, had the control over all acquisitions like he does now, maybe we'd have started with a competitive lineup like what Atlanta is putting together.

I guess the biggest answer we will get today is does mix have a no trade clause.

We won't get this answer today. Because, if he is not on the protection list either 1) He has no trade clause, or 2) He agreed to waive his no trade clause to be in the expansion draft...

EDIT: Atlanta does have the first pick in the Allocation Draft, so if Mix agreed to go to Atlanta and he's the best player available on the board, he may be there by tomorrow...
