Just for curiosities sake, where does T-Mac fall on your pecking order?
Putting guys ahead of TMac in no particular order:

1. Villa
2. Pirlo
3. Johnson
4. Chanot
5. Brillant
6. Matarrita
7. McNamara (I could hear an argument for Khiry here)

RJ just a step below. I would have Mix on there, but not even going to entertain that or go down that route on here.

I think he should, but I can see him being the 11th man and teetering with Mikey Lopez.

There are a ton of keepers available - some teams didn't protect any. Clint Irwin and Steve Clark are available, for example. FYI, RBNY protected both Meara and Robles. I would be shocked if Saunders is picked above either of them. Lurch has value because he is young and cheap. ATL might need a backup.

And the Rapids protected MacMath as well.

Important occasional reminder that we're losing *at most* one (1) of our unprotected players:

"Maximum Player Loss: Once one (1) player has been claimed from a Club’s non-protected roster, that Club is eliminated from the Expansion Draft and may not lose any further players."

There will be a total of ten (1o) players selected.

Quick summary:

Okoli isn't eligible to be selected in thr expansion draft as he was not on a MLS roster this season.
Mix had to be protected because of no trade clause
Max we lose is one player, so leaving 3 GK unprotected doesn't mean much

Things to keep in mind. With the cap, the decisions on who to leave unprotected often comes down to salary. It's a better bet that a high salary player would be left alone as opposed to a lower salaried, assuming even skill.

Ultimately I think nary a player will be picked from NYCFC but that's just my opinion.

I agree that no NYC player will be selected. Looking at the overall unprotected list of every team, there is much more value out there compared to what NYC has to offer in terms of age/skill/salary. It wouldn't be the end of the world if either scenario plays out for us as there isn't necessarily a "core" player left unprotected by NYC.

I guess it's safe to say that most of us are hoping that either Mena or Saunders gets selected for the added financial flexibility.

What are he chances that we lose anyone in any of the 3 drafts? It appears that if anything Minnesota might be more dependent on the draft due to not having done much yet to build a roster. ATL might be in the market for bench players so chances are the more expensive players are safe.

We let so many players go right after this season that we actually only have 6 more players than Atlanta, if I'm counting right. And that's before they sign 5 more today. I really hope we have a handful of guys lined up and start getting news rapid fire towards the end of this week.

So... MLS expansion draft begins today at 2pm. The Sounders victory parade begins today at 2pm. Someone on the Sounders may be on another team by the time their victory parade is over. Awkward...

Well they get a champion...i guess

It was really fun being here when we did our draft. If I remember most were happy to get Grabavoy and Wingert since they knew the system and could be coaches on the field. Mullins was a big target that we were happy to get. One thing was, we really wanted a keeper, and MacMath was available and we didn't grab him. We did end up trading Zisso to NJ for a year of Meara (worst trade ever). But either way that was a great day to be a fan, I'm excited for ATL and MNFC fans who get to do that today. There seem to be much better players available this time than last for some reason, so they will get some good talent.

The other day I randomly came across the original draft thread, and our post draft reactions. I was tempted to bump it for everyone's enjoyment, but, man, there were some gems in there from many of us that I thought were best left undisturbed!

Anyone know if it will be possible to press play and then pause on the youtube draft coverage? I have to step out for an hour at 2pm and would love to watch from the beginning when I get back.

That usually works on a desktop, not so much on any mobile device. If it doesn't, I've seen live streams where you could start at the beginning and some where you couldn't. I don't know what determines it.

In either event, you should be okay.

The live stream will be becomes it's own YouTube video a few minutes after the live broadcasts ends. So you can watch it in full then.
