Frank Lampard Thread

Please identy the massive amount of trolls we have here. Please. Because you couldn't identify more than 2 members from England or even MCFC supporters. I can show you the ban list and it's almost entirely MCFC supporters that have crossed the line. I'm not banning people for no damn reason but because you or someone else disagree with them. Use the ignore function. The fact alone that you don't want to demonstrates you're just as much an instigator. If we see a member is not here for the right reason we address it as we have with those here and let them know what needs to happen if they want to stick around. Since that was said they haven't so much as replied here. I still can't fathom why you or anyone else feel the need to continue to come back to this topic when it infuriates you so much. Or at least that's how you come across.
Not trying to be a dick just stating the obvious. The need to continue to bring up Lampard and making the EC threads and so on that's not trolling?
How is that any less a troll attempt then a MCFC fan defending their viewpoint?
Understand that almost EVERY SINGLE member here is a supporter of another club. Besides those who just took up the sport. Search this entire forum and you probably won't find anything in the slightest form degrading any club other than MCFC (aside from MLS clubs). The only reason it's even slightly allowed is some of the hate is justified in the sense that their FO Screwed us over. The second that hate is turned to personal insults we are going to step in. That would happen if it was directed at United, Chelsea, Barcelona, etc supporters. So unless everyone here denounces every other club they've supported we need to bare in mind that this forum is home to a wide assortment of supporters that happen to share a common interest. It will take a long time for NYCFC Supporters as a whole to identify themselves as solely NYCFC.
I support MCFC as do A LOT of those here. It is extremely difficult to hold in the emotions at times. This thread was moved to debate desk a long time ago and we were pressured to put it back. Since we have its served no other purpose than acting as a meme and bromance thread. And shouts of Mods mods mods can be heard on every page. Really? The next time I need so much as dedicate a minute of my day to this thread it's going to debate desk and you can do whatever the hell you guys want to from that point on.

How is it trolling to have a wall of shame thread for clueless posts on another board? It would be trolling if I did it on the board I was skewering. I even said in the thread that we could do one for our own board, but that was already every thread.

Then, I posted a positive thread because I liked that many of the posters had good things to say, and the other thread was sent to the depths.

We have several good posters who came to the team via that connection, no doubt . I don't have a problem with that, and think it's great. That's a small example of the power a NY team can have globally as MLS grows. I totally see an improving MLS eventually putting lots of other countries' fans in the boat we're all in (ie, having your long time club and an MLS club favorite).

That said, when posters show up and their first days are dedicated to re-opening old crap or explaining why we're not supporting the team the right way, I think the leash should be short. Whether that poster is a culturally confused Brooklynite Chelsea plastic or a born and bred Mancunian or whatever. I dig all of that, I just don't dig pedantic pandering from people here for the express purpose of defending some club other than NYC.

I've said many times that I don't have a problem with MCFC fans supporting their team above all. Of course they will and should. I just don't care for instances where one's criticism of NYC, its supporters, or MLS is tolerated here, and the continual insistence that we need to be patient and CFG will deliver us a great team. At this point, it seems that any positives of our team were in spite of CFG, not because of them (which I believe is your point about the FO screwing us).

Even with the poster we're obviously speaking about without naming, I and others politely attempted to steer him away from these old topics in the hopes of avoiding the problems you now lament.

It's your board, so you can and will do what you want. I have been and will continue implementing the ignore function, but when despite its use, I see tons of old, hot garbage that's been buried for weeks or months back to start stinking up the joint again, it seems a strong indicator that someone has churned the dumpster.

Bring him. Can't wait to have him. The people here who would rather lose and play disinterested football than have Lampard here kill me. They are the true trolls.

If Ned Grabavoy, Mehdi Ballouchy and Seba Velasquez were better in the Midfield than Frank Lampard, CFG would have moved them to Manchester. Frank might not be the same player he was 4 years ago, but he can make an impact here. Even if it is just to keep possession. Our MF is atrocious. Villa looked like he wanted to kill someone yesterday.

Have we lost without Frank Lampard yet? hmm...

I think folks and the media are blowing this whole "we haven't lost yet" thing way out of proportion. NYCFC can easily have two losses right now. They got lucky yesterday to get the draw, they played awful. I think it's @Paul who mentioned this in another thread, but NYCFC has only played well in two halves over the three games.

I'm not sure there is any body, other than trolls, that don't want Lampard here. There are people, like myself, who would prefer somebody else, and there are people who won't cheer for him etc.
There is no doubt that he is going to improve our team.

But to be fair, I'm really nervous about this SKC game this week.

They're desperate for a win, they deserve a win by now probably, we don't have that same hunger. They also play better as a team than we do.

I mean, ideally, it wouldn't be him, but if he brings the quality needed, I can still cheer for the team and despise him.

Hahah, exactly my feelings. My guess is he'll make an instant impact, and he should have fresh legs since FUFC benched him.

When you look at the table it doesn't say that it just says 5 points !!

I guess, that's fine if you want to look at it that way, but I'm more of a realist and know that those 5 points have more to do with luck than the performance of the team.

I don't understand how people "prefer" someone else. Who else? He signed a contract. We're not going to "trade" him for the right to use Demechellis for half the season.

I think we all need to lower our expectations a tad. We are a new team and I think it will take a couple of seasons for us to find the right mix. I agree that we haven't played well. However, it is always better to be lucky than good.

The teams that win in this league are able to develop above average (or exceptional) MLS talent. We have the ability right now to go and get it (Villa, Mix and Lampard). But to sustain winning, with the salary cap constraints that we have, it is almost impossible to win unless you can develop guys like Yedlin and Zardes. Cheap, quality labor is not easy to come by in this league. That's what makes Shelton so important. And that's why guys like Dunn or McNamara, if they can become solid contributors in the next couple of years, will be more important than a guy like Ned Grabavoy.
