General MLS Discussion

Tom Bogert reporting that LAFC is working a deal with the Revs to send Shradi to New England. But not only is it not official it is still being actively negotiated. ITS has seen just 161 minutes with LAFC.

I can't justify being upset with them.
Charlotte made a profit and every expansion team after us has done the same thing by drafting a player and immediately selling him elsewhere.
LAFC might make a profit. I'm curious how much they sell him for if the deal happens. New England made $100k GAM by renting Lletget for a few months.
Blame MLS rules for undercompensating teams when a player is taken in the draft.

This is how we were able to get Sean Johnson so we can’t be too upset with that transaction.

no way, they traded for him. didnt he get waived or something by chicago went to atlanta and then nycfc traded for him?

Regardless of this, the situation is different because SJ became one of our most important players in that timeframe, while Isi has barely touched the field in his time at LAFC.

There have been a dozen expansion pick and trade deals since 2016 and to my memory nobody here ever said boo or expressed the thought that they were wrong.

Then it happens to us and still with the complaining 8 months later, over a player who generated fewer G+A than Jesus bloody Medina over 4 years.

Was just thinking about something similar. Even with out Taty, I really don’t see him getting minutes over GB, Thiago, Talles, Santi, Maxi or Heber.

Good point. Where and when would he play for us, assuming he stays healthy, which he never does.
Last year he only managed 231 minutes in the last 15 games and didn't score once in the second half of the season or playoffs. His disappearing production was part of the reason for the club''s second half slump and he did nothing to get us out of it. I like him, but it's OK to let him go.
I do think we deserved more than $50k GAM for him but those are the expansion draft rules.

The old man and DC.

That Nike ad was pretty clairvoyant.
