What? TMac earned his money straight up today. I'd take his game over Calle every time based on today.

Eta: if there's one thing any NYC fan can be damn sure about it's that you never, NEVER EVER EVER assume Lampard.

Edited for drunj spelling.
Spot on. TMac was great on both sides of the ball yesterday. Calle had a nice shift but no way he should take TMac's spot based on yesterday's game. Great assist to Calle on the nice one-two with Iraola and then a classy, composed, left footed finish for the eventual game winning goal. He also had perhaps the most crucial defensive clearance of the day in the 93rd minute. When Kaka's free kick caromed off the post back to the penalty spot it was TMac who headed it clear to the corner of the 18. Angelino works his ass off to get a touch, Mix goes off to the races with Poku and Villa and the three points are sealed.

On an unrelated note, does anyone else hear the Super Mario Brothers music in their head when Poku goes on one of his dribbling jaunts up the field? Orlando defenders were bouncing off of him like those stupid turtles yesterday. I know he needs to work on some of the other facets of his game, but this kid is an absolute beast going forward with the ball at his feet.

Those Poku runs really do remind me of two things, the trademark Beast Mode Lynch run and YaYa power pinballing down the field. The latter had the potential early on of being a lazy and convenient comparison, but he really has proven to have that YaYa gear.

Poku has proven that he deserves to be on the field. He's also proven that his cult following is justified in cheering for him.

Would be psyched if the temp dips below 90 on Sat but not looking good as of now.

There's no reason why this game can't be played at 7 PM. I don't care about television, but it on YES 2 for all I care. It's a home game, anyone in the NY area that wants to watch this match would be at the stadium. Everyone else in the country can watch on MLS Live or streaming.

I'm going to bathe in sun screen before this match. God, please save me from skin cancer these past two games.

I don't understand how we can have a mid summer Saturday game at the height of the sun....we got lucky there was some clouds yesterday. What's the reasoning? TV? What casual fan is gonna watch this game smack in the middle of a Saturday. If this was a Sat night game the place would be rocking.

I think MLS likes to spread the games throughout the day. I like weekend afternoon sports (minority preference I realize) and appreciate this, although I do wish we had some of them in March. As an east coast team we'll always be a bit more likely to have the early game.

Two home games in a week is awesome. Can't wait. But wtf is with all these afternoon games? I'm dying for a summer night game.

I admittedly have been in the small camp that didn't understand the Poku hype. Happy to admit I was wrong. He looked great this past weekend. He proved the fitness rumors wrong. His awareness and positioning have gotten better each game. I would still like to see a bit more effort on defense but he's gotten considerably better than his first few appearances. Hopefully we see him every game from here on out as either a starter or one of the first players off the bench.

Does Mix and Pirlo start this one? Does AJ and Ballouchy come off?
Ballouchy is suspended I think. AJ will be interesting to see what happens with him. I think Mix and Pirlo both start.
