Rise and Shine! It’s game day mothah fuckahs!!!!!!!!

Maybe this has already been discussed, but anyone have thoughts on why kickoff is so early for a west coast game? Is it as simple as "there's no way an MLS match is anywhere near popular enough for it to be worth Disney's while to televise it any later in the day"?

Can we please co-opt the Timbers rain cheer, “Let it rain, Let it pour, let New York City Score na na nahhh na naahh na na”

This. Regular season NBA game between warriors and sixers will get more viewers than MLS cup.

When you're on ABC, the gametime is rigid. So it was always set for 3pm ET no matter where the game was played. They have a basketball game in primetime, and I think you'd agree ABC is more high-profile than ESPN.

Also ... the only other real sports competition is the Army-Navy game. It's actually not a terrible timeslot.
