Saunders gets a 7. One of his best all around games.

Mena gets a 7. Probably his best game in an NYCFC uniform. His tackle that gave up a dangerous free kick was a result of laziness and that pisses me off.

Brillant gets an 8. Consistently consistent.

White gets a 4. Doesn't deserve to be out there.

Allen gets a 5. He's looked like crap the last couple of weeks playing wide left.

Iraola gets a 7. Played well offensively. Didn't think he was great defensively in this game.

Pirlo gets a 7.

Lampard gets a 6. I don't think he was great today.

McNamara gets a 5. He's been invisible.

Harrison gets a 7. He had an up and down game I think. At times he tries doing too much. Looks like he is trying to find a rhythm on the wing. Beautiful goal.

Villa gets a 9 and MOTM. Fantastic game today.

Lopez gets a 4. That was the wrong substitute. Mikey has a very defined role on this team. Him coming in to play the 6 in place of Iraola pissed me off. He's awful in possession and has no size. He's best used as Lampard's caddy chasing the game from the #10 role when we have a lead.

Bravo gets an N/A. I thought he should have replaced Iraola. He's much better on the ball than Lopez and is a physical force in front of the CBs. I think we settled down when he came in and Lopez moved up the field.

Mullins gets an N/A

With their line up, it should have been easier than we made it. Ref was poor and Drogba has obviously some "no Red card" deal with MLS. Shocking. Jack's goal was world class and Villa played his heart out (again). We laugh at Lampard's "lucky" goals, but he's in the right place at the right time and they all count. Our best defender was Mena in the second half, but I still hold my breath every time Saunders has to build from the back. Surprise appearance from Mullins? I'll take the 3 points. Thank you and goodnight.

Sure, Saunders got beaten for a soft goal (in large part due to Brilliant screwing up), but let's not overlook that he made two saves v. Didier Drogba, one of which was a wicked free kick.

Lopez did what he was brought on to do, which was take a yellow to break up a counterattack. He also made one great possession recovery and found Harrison with a long ball which started a play that nearly ended in a chance created. So, no, he's not great, but he has his utility.

That Harrison goal was just tremendous. I hope we can keep him for at least another season or two. Sigh.

Lampard may have reinvented himself as king of the garbage goals, but at least he's our king of the garbage goals.

Villa beating his man to create space and coolly knocking it in low and hard was just so vintage.

As mentioned above, for much of the first half it really looked like we didn't have it in us tonight, but Captain David stepped up and turned it around.

Gotta love that table position. Let's keep it going. All hail the blue.

When my Andrea confronts the refs witch always makes my day what language is he speaking in?? We know his English is not good!! But what ever he knows of it he must be using both English and Italian at the same time. Really how Fkn funny is this??

It could just be me, but I don't understand all the hate directed at Mikey. He's no Iraola, which is clear, but he's got his purpose on our team which is to be our midfield destroyer. He's got speed and plays more physical than his size. Yes, that yellow was careless, but that's his play style.

An argument could be made for bravo to be subbed in, but I thought Mikey did what was asked of him. I'm a fan of his play.

Know lots of love for Harrison overall, but I didn't think he played well beyond the goal today. Tommy a total beast on the ball today. Some great chances.

I couldn't help but think how awesome it was seeing us play so long on a field fit for it...

Well, he's postionally stoopid. He has no concept of space. He's unaware of where his teammates or opponents are on the field. He has no touch. His butthole clenches and his nuts retract with the slightest sight of goal. And he tried to take out Lampard on a clear goal.

Oh, and he's made precisely one tackle that wasn't card worthy in his entire career.

I could cite specifics, but I'm too lazy. Just watch any clip of his time on the field.

Running around a lot alone does not make you a good player. It makes it look like you try hard. And he does try hard. He's just not even good enough to say he lacks quality. He's not a soccer player. He's a hatchet man, and I don't find that enjoyable to root for.

Great bounce back. "IS THAT THE REAL NYCFC?" I'd like to shove that in Lalas and all the other US soccer media's faces. They were all praying we'd go on another losing streak after KC to prove how right they are about us going about things the wrong way.

Lalas still thinks his song - Kicking Balls - is going platinum.

If you want, get made at Lalas for saying random things to get reactions regardless of whether he actually believes them. In contrast, getting mad at Lalas for saying this specific thing, is really wasted energy.

Lalas: Ciman and Piatti didn't play today. I'm still not sold on them.

Lopez was brought in as an antagonist. Patrick saw it getting chippy and knew he'd be physical. That's all he's good for really. Would prefer to see Bravo be Iraola's sub though. Don't know what the deal is with him though.

RJ seems to be regressing. He can't play left either. He plays his best when Mat is on the left and he's right.

The rest of the team played their usual roles good enough to win. No one killed it and no one sucked either. It's a road win & 3 points. We'll take it.
