Even when we win we still find a reason to complain...
I missed the 1st 15 minutes but after that I thought the whole team played pretty well! Not great but not bad. We got a win and scored three goals. That's very good
Oh CCMore JCMore !! Don't you understand sweetie?? Shouldn't you know better ??.............Your Common Sense confuses them and means Nothing to a Bunch of Pigeon Shits !!!! That's Ok you have a good day! and if you have the time look for my other comment on this thread. It's above FootyLovin FootyLovin .

I won't feel right until I apologize for mistaking Mikey for Harrison on the 3rd goal. I still don't think Mikey is very good, but I blamed him for something he didn't do (whether I wrote it or not, I did in my head).

Know lots of love for Harrison overall, but I didn't think he played well beyond the goal today. Tommy a total beast on the ball today. Some great chances.
I couldn't help but think how awesome it was seeing us play so long on a field fit for it...

Agreed. I think we were very astute and mixed it up pretty well. Playing to our strengths.
Is it me, or did Pirlo seem more mobile and athletic.
Villa was an example to all. His movement and timing of his runs were stunning.

RJ seems to be regressing. He can't play left either. He plays his best when Mat is on the left and he's right.

I don't think he is regressing at all, but I do agree he is much better on the right. I can't imagine that the combination of him on the right and Martinez on the right is not better than him on the left and White or Hernandez on the right.

If you want, get made at Lalas for saying random things to get reactions regardless of whether he actually believes them.
This.

My wife's cousin is a sports talk radio guy. While generally he believes the shit he spews we have talked at length about the greater value of stirring the pot over saying something meaningful.

The job is ratings, not truth.

If Lalas has a bunch of Pigeon fans in a tizzy, he's happy. Your frustration is his joy. Get over it.

I think the rest of your argument is also too singleminded. You bash what you don't like with little recognition of what works.

My two cents is that among other things Mikey had the pass of the game that should have culminated in a better scoring chance than it did. If Pirlo had made the same pass we would all be talking about how regardless of his defense a play or two like that each game can turn the tide.

It could just be me, but I don't understand all the hate directed at Mikey. He's no Iraola, which is clear, but he's got his purpose on our team which is to be our midfield destroyer. He's got speed and plays more physical than his size. Yes, that yellow was careless, but that's his play style.

An argument could be made for bravo to be subbed in, but I thought Mikey did what was asked of him. I'm a fan of his play.
Was Mikey's foul a deserved yellow yesterday? Yes.

Was it a deserved yellow based on how the ref was previously calling the game? Hell no.

I'd really like to see some different angles on the Montreal goal. I'm not certain Saunders could have done much more about it, and I've seen quite a few people on facebook saying it should go ahead and count as a Brillant "own goal", but could he really have gotten there?

I know he tried to play it, but I'm not certain he could have gotten his foot on it as it seemed to bounce pretty high. Until I can see another good angle that shows it better, I'm going to chalk that one up to a soft goal on an awkward play. But not sure I can dole out any "blame" for it.

Mena had an amazing game as others have pointed out. I've been a Mena fan, and I'm still not certain on him going forward as an overall defender, but his 1v1 defending skills are legit.

He's had some dumb passes, bad positioning, and other mistakes, but when has he been beaten 1v1?

Lopez was brought in as an antagonist. Patrick saw it getting chippy and knew he'd be physical. That's all he's good for really. Would prefer to see Bravo be Iraola's sub though. Don't know what the deal is with him though.

RJ seems to be regressing. He can't play left either. He plays his best when Mat is on the left and he's right.

The rest of the team played their usual roles good enough to win. No one killed it and no one sucked either. It's a road win & 3 points. We'll take it.

RJ is not regressing, I think that on field quality of NYCFC has improved substantially. Additionally with the shitloads of extra TAM that Garber is doling out the on field quality of every team is rapidly improving.

At age 26 Allen is functionally done developing as a player. I think that Allen is in a position where he is going to be Grabavoyed i.e. the league steadily grows past the point where his talent can meaningfully contribute.

Well, that's kind of the thing about Mena, as well as the rest of the defenders. Each has his strengths, but also his weaknesses. None is the complete package. Mena is great one-on-one, but his passing is not strong, to say the least.

Overall, I think it was an okay game for us. I do think we were a little bit lucky with the result. The Lampard goal was a freak occurrence, and Montreal was definitely dangerous throughout. They did come close to equalizing more than once before Lampard picked a new body part from which to score. Still, I certainly don't think we were any luckier to win than they were to draw against us earlier in the year - and, we still need a couple more good breaks before our luck evens out.

We are three games into the nine game gauntlet that I discussed on another thread, and we have 2 wins and 1 loss for 6 points. If we keep this up, we will finish top 2 in the conference with an easier playoff road, for sure.

Maybe Allen is uncomfortable as a LB? Maybe the league has figured him out. Maybe he broke up with his girlfriend.

He's been noticeably worse the past few weeks.

Lopez does have a spot on this team as a super defensive sub to kill off games. He's like a chicken with his head cut off. I don't think his position is to replace Iraola. That was the wrong move. He lacks positional awareness. The right move was Bravo for Iraola. We finally settled down when Bravo came on.

Oh FootyLovin FootyLovin ! Don't you and CCMore JCMore realize??? It Makes No Sense to Argue With Pigeon Shits Sweeties! This is not good it only rises your Blood Pressure !! But it's ok you Have a Nice Day !!

One other point I wanted to make after seeing a post in another thread. That pass from TMac to Villa on the first goal was good. It wasn't great, but it was good.

But the real play there was David Villa using his body against the defender to create the massive amount of space. Watching the little things he does is quite amazing.
