Making memberships and scarfs available online is really a plastic move, disappointed in TR. Honestly I'll probably get hate for this, but TR is shaping up to be one of the most club run SG's in MLS. The fake flags, all the benefits from the club.. I guess this is the trend MLS SG's are going in now a days, like TA. Sad. Little independence. that's not how soccer support is around the world, why change the beautiful game?
 
We all have a right to our own opinions that's the great thing about USA. Of course you will have those that want to control it but my parents came from a country like that so I can never agree with it! That being said TR does mean well but as you see in most teams there's always more then one SG and they all have to realize they aren't enemies but they are supporters for a team.

When you make a new account to attack them with it's pretty plastic as well. This is an open forum and I'm all for voicing your opinion but in this fashion it's very distasteful. How about use your Facebook to go on their official Facebook page and say the same thing. You won't because you'd rather hide behind an anonymous account.

If I were a member of a supporters group who was not working along with the FO to give it's members exclusive benefits and get the club to purchase some items, I would be disappointed. The SG should maintain it's independence while taking advantage of everything the club can offer to them. At some point, you cross a line and basically become a shill group for the club. I do not believe TR has come anywhere close to crossing that line.
If you look around MLS, all of the bigger SG's have a solid working relationship with the club, it's a necessity. You need to balance your independent voice of course, but ultimately the club and the SG have the same goal.

i guess every business that sells things online are doing it wrong. That really is a bonehead statement.

That's absolutely not what I said. You're new to supporters culture, so you probably don't understand. Selling things online as a business and a SG are 10000x different. Ask any respectable group like District Ultras, Sons of Ben, 1906 Ultras or any European group.

what if you want to support the team and the Third Rail but dont live close by? Youre not allowed to be in it?

I agree and disagree. Your logic is what appeals to me. What you consider an sg is exactly how I see it. It's what attracts me to it.
As far as Europe, there are shitloads of groups and I mean well established groups that market their name. They're looked down upon by other groups but in the end they maintain their status. You have to consider this also, if the upper guys are constantly asking for money for this and that how long until you get totally turned off. So far tr has been heavily involved in a lot of events. Eventually the membership money will run out if it hasn't already. This way the groups supports itself financially. Now if they still ask for money, well then you're just part of some bs organization which uses you for their own profits. Till then I see no issue.
 
i honestly dont see why people hate on the TR so much. all they're doing is trying to make a support group. i like theire views on the drums and the english way of supporting.

I'm usually active on Facebook. I use to be here before there was even a TR and usually up to date on Twitter and IG and I never seen you being bashed... I'm not aware of everything that goes on but hope it's not true we all want to support NYCFC it shouldn't be SG vs SC vs New guys.
