There's got to be someone in Liga MX, Ligue 1, La Liga, Turkey who's playing well, making 5mil/yr and is in his mid to late 20s. I'd even take a young EPL player on a 6mil/yr contract so long as he can give us 15 goals and 10 assists a year.

The next step for the MLS and the teams is to sign players who are high caliber and are in their best years, it will happen more and more down the line as the sport and league gets more popular and bigger, they have been some top signings already, players like Villa, R Keane, Pirlo, Kaka (twilight) Giovinco (who is someone that coming into his best years) it's something to build upon and I can see MLS becoming as big as NFL is over here in England and become a alternative (instead of European Football) to fans who just watch English Football

Maybe the other Irish strikers over here (Keane and Doyle) can tell Long how awesome America is, and then he will come over to NYCFC. I would love that, but I presume it probably wouldn't happen. Nasri I can see possibly happening in the next year or two.

I don't know a whole ton on his contract situation....but what about Salomon Kalou? A great youngish striker currently in Bundesliga. A Ghanian connection with Poku. He visited last year attending the derby at YS.

Yeah, you're right. He is from the Ivory Coast. He plays both striker and winger, so is pretty flexible.

I just checked, he's on contract through summer of 2017.

Zlatan I can see in America someday, NYCFC be a obvious choice as a player like him will want to live in a "attractive" city as well, Nasri I can see going to MLS/China or home maybe to Marseille, Kalou will be at the first club that offer him a good pay package

We've been stockpiling TAM and I am assuming we still have some GAM. Buy Lampard down in the summer and sign either Nasri or Zlatan.

A new challenge for Zlatan, their a lot of steam of Manchester United buying him if Mourinho becomes the next manager for United, they have connections and Zlatan has always wanted to play for Mourinho again

AC Milan would love him back, Chelsea would be looking at him (ideal as London is big destination)

If he comes to the MLS, NYCFC will definitely be one team after him, I could see Orlando, LA Galaxy taking interest.... maybe the new LA and Miami team (but I'm not sure when they both coming into the MLS)

I don't think it is possible to buy Lampard down enough so that he is no longer a DP.

As much as I love the Zlatan confirmed trope, I'm not sure he is our best signing. When we signed Pirlo we created a situation where we had two DPs Pirlo/Lamps who didn't fit well together. Doesn't Zlatan/Villa do the same thing? Don't they both want to play the same position?
