NYCFC Social Media Thread

Anyone else bugged by the fact that this is our 11th season?

They celebrated the 10th season last year, now they're celebrating the 10th anniversary.

Part of me thinks they should pick one, but having a home game on the exact 10-year anniversary of our first game and first home game lends itself to this sort of campaign.

I have no problem with it -- if this sort of thing helps to bring attention our way, it's worth it no matter how silly it is.

future 2025 MLS Cup Champions... ?

God, this club just can't get out of its own way.

IMHO the TR is pretty lame (I joined for one year and decided no mas after the embarrassing RBNJ cup beer shower incident) and overall the support is completely disorganized, but somehow they are more organized than the club.

But this is just stupid on the club's part and signals either a lack of organization or just a lack of care.

They really need to empower a fan relations person or team. I would do it for cheap.

Honestly I'm more and more amazed they won MLS Cup and secured a stadium site. Those are both really hard! And yet they screw up easy things all the damn time.

Boo hoo. Look at me.

Simple solution - make a general NYCFC tifo for the home opener that can be reused if there are last minute sanctions (and there likely wouldn’t be after this delay).

I appreciate the Third Rail and all for anyone that wants to join, but too often it seems like there is a lot of time spent complaining (tifo so hard) that could be spent solving (rooting out the problems in the supporters section that started the mess).

The Third Rail had no part in the RBNJ cup beer show incident. They are just assumed to be at fault because they have the most members and are most well known among the supporters of the club. Not everyone in the supporter section home or away is Third Rail and not all supporter incidents stem from the Third Rail.

The whole point of tifos is that they’re match-specific (with a few exceptions over the years), so they’re not going to spend time and money making something generic just to maybe display it at the home opener and have everyone talk shit about how it wasn’t special for the 10th anniversary or display it next weekend just because. It’s hard enough to get people to show up to those paint sessions when they know they can display it, I’m glad they didn’t just make one and waste people’s time knowing there was a chance it wouldn’t get approved.

I think the “time spent complaining” is justified, especially against those who always have something to say about design/execution/etc but have never helped with a design or paint or unfold.

Tifos take a considerable amount of time but I disagree with it being even remotely comparable to the amount of time it takes to try to solve issues in the supporters section.

And the most difficult part of scheduling paint sessions isn't just being able to get the volunteers to come paint, but it's about securing the timeframes to paint the tifo. These things are massive and require a very large space in order to do so. And it may be hard to believe, but securing massive available space at little to no cost in this city is a little bit difficult.
