Maxi's family is in the seats in the row behind mine and the family seems to be really enjoying game day FWIW

The day Maxi brought his son on the field to get Messi's jersey from him was pretty magical. I think we see Maxi back next year.

He'll be back. There is no way he worked so hard to come back from injury for just a couple months of action. He is already committed to next season imo, unless maybe we win it all and he decides to go out on top!

Found it telling that among all the other "reporting day" pictures, the team did not post any pictures of Pascal Jansen. I assume that means he's back home awaiting his visa.

Relatedly: MLS preseason is ridiculously long. Six weeks of preseason is crazy.

Well, Jovan had 4 weeks of camp last season, and 3 weeks into the season he was telling people he was only 60-75% fit so it might not be long enough.

It's very hard to get in shape when you're 18, takes a long time. /s

I feel for Jovan. I started working on getting in shape when I was 18. At 44 I’m finally starting to get some fitness. It takes time people. Get off his back.

Jovan flew to NY to join the team on Feb 13th, he was in preseason training videos shortly after, and oddly even before they officially announced him on Feb 19th. Our first game was on Feb 24th, so it was much shorter than 4 weeks now that I looked it up. I still stand by my point though that it's absurd that he was saying he wasn't fit a few weeks into the season.

We signed him in February last year and he was in a preseason game the next day. Then he had some visa issues after the season started.

His quote about only being 60%-75% was before the visa issues. It would be more reasonable if it was after he got stuck back in Europe for a few weeks. But he said it on March 14th at which point he had been with the team for weeks and already played in 3 MLS regular season games. Jovan's team granted leave "Visa Issue" was not reported until the Atlanta game on April 6th.
