Official 2016 Nycfc Roster Discussion Thread

Maybe it's best for Mullins, but I don't want to see him go. I thought he would get some major minutes this year and clearly he does too if Nick C is right. Now that I bought a Mullins name plate for my onion jeresy at the beginning of the season, I'd feel pretty stupid if he got traded away...

Always good to base statements on social media tumors. He's a hack. Even if it pans out, he's simply guessing.

Not saying I believe in the credibility of the self proclaimed, wrong way more often than right, "NostraChavez". Just saying that based on the intensity and confidence he displays on the field I could see Mullins not being one that could be content to sit on the bench and wait for his chance.

PV gave Mullins a go starting at ST with Villa on the left and he struggled, expect if there was an argument it went something along the lines of PV saying i gave u a chance and Mullins saying that he has shown in the past that he can score goals and he needs more than 1 game starting.
Would be disappointed if he left because hes a good backup ST but he deserves to play more than he does and could probs start at another team whereas i don't see him ever being a regular starter for us this season

I'm surprised he hasn't seen more late game chances coming on for Villa. He has shown he can excel in the sub role. Unfortunately, it seems like Villa wants to play every min and PV values using his attacking subs for speed injections on the wings.

Next week will tell us a lot. 3 games in 7 days. How much of that can Villa go?

If Mullins gets zero minutes by the end of the derby, I think he is officially on the USOC squad and not much more, barring significant injuries.

No Poku in the video or pictures.

Today is trade deadline day

More importantly Mix is rocking the man bun. Could be a sign he is ready to get down and dirty to knock Lopez out of his spot.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he has been seen since he missed a training session last week purportedly to discuss a Green Card issue with the team, including an exclusion from the 18 in DC. That may have been true (for example some issue with the customary update registration), but maybe it is something more than that. Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

Put a fork in the Mullins rumors (again, no idea where that came from)

He's in practice... along with Fat Frank

All that proves to me is that a deal isn't done yet. I don't particularly believe the original rumor, but if you're going to hold out everyone who might maybe possibly be traded, you might as well cancel practice on deadline day.

Poku is in practice with the team today, nothing out of the ordinary.

I like Mullins. He is a talented guy and part of the young core of this team that makes me optimistic about our future. That said, I am not sure he is a good fit for the system we are running right now - particularly with Villa ahead of him. There just isn't room for two central strikers. We do need him on the roster, but he isn't going to get the minutes he probably deserves.

Exactly. He's a CF. Unless we move to a 4-4-2, he doesn't fit.

Looks as though Chap will have another surgery tomorrow, essentially ending his season, I would imagine.

3rd surgery in 10 months. Not exactly a positive sign. Feel terrible for that kid.

Any idea if it's the same injury or he's developed another new one?
